It was by far one of the easiest weight classes which is why the BC kid dropped down and won it all.

Not to mention he was losing late in the 2nd round match = if the Pingry kid didn’t lock hands in last minute of the match giving up a penalty point plus got choice (CH took bottom of course) there is a good chance he would have lost.

hope he proves me wrong and does well at Rider so we can grab him in the portal
The pingry kid grabbed fingers and backed away the whole match while Hansen was trying to throw him to get the all time pins record.

Gonzalez gave an interview to nj .com and said he went down to 138 bc he wasn’t cutting any weight and was eating breakfast and lunch everyday so he cut down and felt lighter and quicker

I was seated 15 feet from the match - agree CH pushed the pace early but Pingry kid wrestled him well and was in a position to win late. Not saying CH isn’t good or won’t be successful at Rider but he’d never put up those numbers if he wrestled at a powerhouse private school. I put him in the Charlie Esposito category = potential but prob not B1G.

you think GG is going to tell NJ.com that he dropped down because 138 was easier? At 144 you had Duffy (Iowa), DeGeorge (Rutgers), Hibler (NW), Henry (Hofstra), McCann (Liu), DePaul (Rutgers?)…GG wanted no part of that 144 weight class as almost the entire podium is committed to D1
