Looks like we may be getting a Boom or two soon

Please oh please. We need some hammer infusion big time. I'm enthusiastic in Mytych's twatter post as he is using "hammer in the plural form.
I was thinking portal. Guess not?
Sammy back back in the portal?....again?? 😅 Messner seems to have the scoop but keeping a tight lip on whoever is incoming, which is understandable.

Hopefully 1 HS and 1 portal.

Harer and O'Malley would be absolutely incredible, though O'Malley is from NJ but could be considered a PA hammer since he is currently at Drexel
Speaking of Drexel, I have no idea how they landed Jasiah Queen. I’m no scout, but that kid is one of the most athletic and explosive wrestlers in NJ.

A lot of these high schools find ways around tuition for athletes. Friends son went to st joes recd financial aid grant and a merit scholarship
Oh I’m sure there are loopholes but they can only go so far. Like how many kids go to these upper end schools like Delbarton, Bergen Catholic, Blair, etc and aren’t athletes? Money has to come in somewhere.

The 2 Pa. juniors that have not given a verbal commitment that we could use are Kinney a heavyweight from Nazareth currently ranked 5th by Flo and Harer a 152lber from Montgomery also ranked 5th by Flo. These kids would be considered really good recruits. The other Pa. junior that would made big difference is Lilledahl of Wyoming Seminary who is ranked #2 Flo at 120.

Then you know the story. Guess he's a quitter as you clearly state. I'll check WrestleStat to see him off the roster soon. Thanks for update. $$$$
I don't care about WrestleStat. I heard the kid isn't wrestling for Cornell anymore.

Interesting... definitely seems like more of a depth/development type pickup than an immediate impact/nationally ranked guy. hopefuly he can continue to develop as he been improving YoY

Flowrestling does not rank Haydn Packer in the top 20. While he has a good record in Penna, he has not yet made the national rankings. Maybe he moves up. As of now, not much to get excited about .

Still hoping for either Harer or Kinney. They would be worth a BOOM

He was ranked #1 in AAA for PA. Only moved to #2 when Sonny Sasso bumped up. I'll take any tough PA kid! Having them in the room helps in so many ways. Looking forward to seeing what this kids got. As a linebacker, he's got some athleticism.

I'll take any PA guy that's winning like he has. The fact that he has gone unknown at the national level could mean he is a diamond in the rough. They said he is a football player so maybe he isn't doing national tournaments?

As fans we have all said many times that we want our recruiting to move out further than just NJ and here it is. Looking forward to seeing how he finishes out his career in PA.

Also hoping we get another big boom soon as well based on Steve's original post of two hammers.

Lilledahl is a pipe dream. He is NC caliber and will surely have offers from the top schools. He would be an accomplishment to land. What would it take to attract him? Full ride, Jersey pizza, Jersey shore, eh... line up some blind dates, lie about the weather...

Diamond in the rough recruits don’t cut it in the big ten.

Agreed, seems to be a tweener weight and not too sure to feel about more two sport wrestlers…it will be interesting if Packer jumps into the national rankings after his sr year.. even “diamond in the rough recruits” like Rivera was ranked 70s class recruit.. and Theobold was ranked top 20 in weight..

Glad to have him but certainly not the “Hammer” that was being thrown about.

A Hammer is a Nationally ranked top 5 level wrestler who can make an immediate impact, ie. Soldano.

Maybe he will end up being terrific but bit disappointing based on all the hype. Connor Harer would be considered a hammer.

Again nothing against the kid, more of a reaction to the hype of the last few days. I hope hes a Nat Champ for us!

To put things in comparison to what we are dealing with in the B1G... Jax Forrest who is a FRESHMAN IN HIGH SCHOOL, just won the Edinboro Open at 125. He won by TF, MD, TF, and by Fall in the tournament against college wrestlers from MSU, Ohio State, etc.. Now they obviously aren't the best of the best in college but it’s still insanely impressive nonetheless. With all that being said, I'm sure he is going to be a lock to PSU once he is eligible. Now you see why recruiting at a high level is a must if we even want to really compete.

His HS is banned from the PIAA post season this year so he won’t be a 4xer and is seeking out competition wherever possible

Is he #1 p4p in his graduating class? That’s an absurd accomplishment
