Congrats to Tahir Parkins and Brandt Harer who both won PA state titles at 139 this afternoon. Parkins had a dominant 20-3 TF while Harer won 1-0. Both are now 2x state champs and Harer will go for his 3rd next year and I believe he has a chance to break the all time PA wins record as well.

wild they have Knox, Dejesus, periten and dellagatta all coming in next year ..11 NJ state titles and 15 state medals in one recruiting class
Mike Grey effect. A few years ago they nabbed Foca, Cardenas, and Fernandes who were 3 of the state champs at the 4 biggest weights. Rutgers got the 4th one in Zach DelVecchio who ended up quitting wrestling when a football offer came in.

Getting side tracked, Rutgers ended up with a lot of guys from that 2019 state tournament. Peterson, Alvarez, Aragona, Kannaird all champs. It was the only year Olivieri didn’t win a title as he took 4th. Raimo another champ who eventually ended up here. O’Neill, Clark, Poz, Harrison, Weaver, Epperly, and Collucci were all place winners.

The rich get richer (potentially)... senior world champ and u20 world champ at 61kg Masanosuke Ono (Japan) has recently enrolled at PSU. He most recently beat Spencer Lee as well as the #1 p4p recruit Marcus Blaze (also a PSU commit) so it will be interesting to see if he just taking some classes while training at the NLWC or if he plans to compete in the NCAA come the fall.

So does this mean the 1-2 potential PSU transfers we are getting are Davis and Nagao?? 👀👀

Crazy
Would he need to enroll to workout at NLWC.

Some time ago, I suggested recruiting foreign world-level wrestlers. He would have been a good one.

I don’t know much about the international studs that are up for grabs, but seems to me it’s would be a no-brainer. Look at any D1 men’s soccer or ice hockey rosters and they are loaded with international athletes.
To be fair, soccer, aka football, is the same game internationally. Wrestling is freestyle elsewhere. Freestyle guys may have a problem on bottom, so they'll fit in well at Rutgers. I would think some, if not many, foreign guys would be interested in a chance to go to school in the US.

They also want to train in freestyle while they are here and we don’t exactly have a great/attractive option for them unfortunately.
