Red Raiders Game Thread..

[57stratdawg]

Ground out to James ends it.

5-5 after 7.

[karlchilders.sixpack]

Rough day for our pitchers.

[57stratdawg]

8th Inning - Logan Tanner starts off with a single. Good start.

[57stratdawg]

Hatcher K's. 1 down.

[57stratdawg]

Wild pitch gets the runner to 2nd. 3-1 count too.

Need to be picky here. Especially with 1B open.

[57stratdawg]

Hancock chases ball 4. 2 down, runner advances to 3rd.

Debrule up. Lets see if he can slap one through the left side.

[57stratdawg]

Debrule! Infield single. Love that guy's game so far.

6-5 MSU.

[57stratdawg]

Debrule gets caught trying to steal 2nd. Heck of a throw from the TT catcher.

6-5 MSU. Mid 8th.

Get another inning out of Koestler and give it over to Price.

[57stratdawg]

New pitcher in for MSU. KC Hunt.

Interesting.

[57stratdawg]

Lead off drag bunt for a single. No much we can do about that.

1 on, 0 outs.

[57stratdawg]

Roll em up! Double play.

2 down. No one on.

[Quincy A. Wagstaff]

Big double play. We need to get through the 8th to face the bottom of the lineup in the 9th.

[57stratdawg]

They reviewed the play at 1b. Close, but the play stands.

[57stratdawg]

Slow roller ends the 8th.

6-5 MSU. Headed to the 9th.

[57stratdawg]

9th Inning - McGowen starts things off with a walk. Good AB.

[57stratdawg]

Hard hit shot from Landon Jordan. Off the 1B, but TT gets the out at first. Runner moves to 2nd.

1 down, 1 on. Rowdy up.

[57stratdawg]

Rowdy! Triple into LF scores McGowen.

7-5 MSU. Rowdy standing on 3rd.

[Quincy A. Wagstaff]

Hopefully James can get his first hit of the season. I'd also be happy with a long fly ball.

Not able to watch: I'm assuming infield in?

[57stratdawg]

K. James with a bloop single. Rowdy scores.

8-5 MSU.

[Tomdh3]

K. James with a bloop single. Rowdy scores.

8-5 MSU.

That was the Jake Mangum record breaking hit.

[57stratdawg]

MSU adds a couple base runners. 2 on, 2 outs. TT making a pitching change.

[Drebin]

I hope Hatcher can come through here and blow it open.

[57stratdawg]

Wow - high chopper from Hatcher on the infield lands behind the pitcher. No one covers first. Then a throw to home gets away. Two runs score. Runner advances to 2nd.

10-5 MSU.

[57stratdawg]

Another single from Hancock.

11-5.

[GloryDawg]

Another single from Hancock.

11-5.

No bunts?******

[57stratdawg]

Strike out ends it, but MSU adds 5.

11-5 good guys. M9.

[Quincy A. Wagstaff]

According to my metrics, expanding a 1-run lead to a 6-run lead in the top of the 9th increases your win probability.

[57stratdawg]

Spencer Price in..

[57stratdawg]

Lead off walk. TT hitter was chirping while headed down to 1B.

[Drebin]

According to my metrics, expanding a 1-run lead to a 6-run lead in the top of the 9th increases your win probability.

Damn analytics are ruining the game.**

[Leeshouldveflanked]

Should have left Hunt in...

[57stratdawg]

Another free pass. Runners at 1st and 2nd. 0 outs.

[57stratdawg]

Wild pitch gets them to 2nd and 3rd. But, Price got a K in between.

2 on, 1 out.

[57stratdawg]

K! 2 down.

[57stratdawg]

Another K. Price strikes out the side.

Dawgs win. 11-5.

[Quincy A. Wagstaff]

Struck out the side.

[Drebin]

Price did that the hard way. Walk the first two, k a guy, throw a wild pitch, and then k the next two.

[Quincy A. Wagstaff]

2-1 vs top-10 teams, combined score 21-11, without 2 of your weekend starters isn't a bad Week 1.

[bruiser.sixpack]

Nice 2-1 for the series. Only loss is a 3-2 loss where a double play ball ended the game with the bases full. Poor Texas Tech. Started the series pre-season ranked #3, ends it with a thud!

So State beats # 8 and # 3 and loses to #10. That will boost your RPI or Analytics score or positraction differential.

[Lawdawg.sixpack]

Jung was doing that all day. And he’s the one that slapped our player (L Jordan?) with the tag on the pickoff play at 2B.
