Took arms in rounds 2 and 3. They won't trade or sign any free agents to boost the offense and the outfield. Stock piling shortstops at every level in the pipeline. While shortstops are the most athletic players typically on a team who can transition to another position. The Reds big idea of position versatility is to slide a SS over to 2B or 3B. Very few shift to the outfield and even then it is the prospects who likely are fringe Major Leaguers at best. Won't go out and draft a bat fresh out of college. I was really hoping the Reds would have selected the Texas A&M power bat Jace LaViolette who can play all 3 outfield spots. Cleveland landed him.

I do really like this pick. Most HRs in College Baseball this past season. Draws comparisons to Cody Bellinger.

^Pagan has done a good job as the closer this year. Getting setup relievers for high-leverage situations before Pagen comes into the game is the weakness of the bullpen.

Last night was just more proof of how far this team really is from being contenders. Instead of sparking urgency, all it did was give the front office another excuse to fall back on their cheapskate ways. Now they’ve got their green light to sell off over the next week and punt the season.

Cincinnati goes out and piss away a series to a Nationals team you absolutely have to beat after a massive series win on the road vs the Mets. Meanwhile, the Reds are in desperate need of real, Major League talent which they clearly can't develop on their own to win at a high level, but the front office will just sit on their *** and do nothing.

Krall will keep hyping up Hunter Greene returning to the rotation like it’s some kind of blockbuster move, until Greene’s next hangnail puts him back on the shelf for the remainder of the season. This front office isn’t serious. And no one should take them as if they are.

Strange play I don't ever recall seeing tonight, Reds on D vs. Cubs. Mid-speed grounder to 3rd. Runner appears to beat ball to first, but runner's last step comes up 2-4" short of 1B, & before he can drag toe across base, ball get to first for the out. Saved 3rd Cubs run. How does a runner mis-time his steps like that?

Has there ever been a worse 2nd half of the season from an overyhyped MLB player than Elly?

~1 HR and 25 RBI in his last 71 games.
~35 for his last 168: .208 BA
~21 point drop in BA since July 12th.
~OBP....horrible. OPS....horrible.
~Leads all SS in errors and K's.

12 games left.....willl he have a hot streak so Sadak can scream and Larkin can proclaim him to be HOF?

The Cards are dumping salary and rebuilding their minor league system. You should at least beat them. Some think they are preparing for a strike in the 27 season. A bunch of young guys will have to drastically improve or they will be bad.
Re a possible strike: a salary floor/cap will have to be passed for the small market teams to compete. For example, the Dodgers paid more in the payroll "luxury tax" than almost half the teams paid in their total payroll.
