Get as many productive innings as you can out of him and when he tires, there won't be as much temptation to leave him in a little too long, and at least you'll still have a chance to win the game later if you do. When you're pitching by committee it doesn't really matter too much who starts anyway.</p>

I don't agree with leaving him in to face 8 batters in the 3rd. He should have been out after the first 2 that inning.
