Reeds been on a tear and I still dont think hes reached his ceiling. Safe to say, he can play in the NBA, and made the right call to stick with staying in the draft. Pretty amazing that at 3rd overall he was able to avoid the dog shir franchises like Washington and New Orleans, and land on an up and comer like Houston. Thats going to make a huge difference in his career and earnings.
He’s going to be a beast. He’s making shots out there that are super difficult look easy. The game is slowing down and that’s bad news for the league.

As someone who recognized the shirt decision wasn’t a wise one .

I’m sure we all have made a questionable decision in life . We just didn’t have a bunch of people judging us for it as big as a college basketball fanbase . If a shirt choice is the worst decision he will make then he lived a good life.

Whats crazy is that Houston was pretty close to trading him several times.. at the draft, then as the year got closer. Id say that if another team made a decent offer, hed have been moved.

And now his play last night is drawing prime CP3 comparisons. Wild.
Show how mentally tough he is . A lot of fans counted him out and called him a bust after one year . And that’s not even counting the UK fans criticizing him for a separate issue

I'm not sure what his ceiling is, but barring serious injury problems, his floor is that he will always be in demand and have a long career.
For sure, his ball handling and ability to get in the lane is surprising. I think his ceiling is even higher than we ever thought. I always knew he was an undervalued athlete by most people. He’s showing he’s quite the athlete now.

The first time I ever saw him play was in an AAU game with other high level players. He was arguably the best player on the floor and was as athletic as anyone. I was somewhat skeptical before that, but he was WAY better than I hoped he would be.

I don’t doubt it. He was a monster here. Sucks his last two games were duds. I would kill to have a backcourt like Him/Dilly/Reeves again. Surround them with a lot of Veterans. I don’t know if Pope could get them to defend any better though.

It’s hard for us to understand, but to him he played for Calipari and a lot of his teammates went there. I get it. I don’t like it, but at the end of the day he’s a Cat for life. He was born and bred here. He played here. His family is a bunch of legends here. He will be back here supporting us when his career is over.

He's a mix of Chris Paul and Curry right now which is DEADLY.

Going to have a long career. Rockets did the right thing last year letting him develop he didn't have an NBA body or the confidence.
It’s rare an organization develops guys like that anymore. Absolutely the right call.

If you would have told me 3 years ago that DJ Wagner would be a jr in college and Reed would be the number 3 pick in the draft and putting up 30 points in an nba game I'd have called you crazy.

There’s been rumors that Tyson chicken has decided to sponsor Reed a 6 piece nugget meal every time he wears Arkansas gear. Hell of a deal

Thing is we need to chill on Reed. I’ve spoke to people that know the family and know him. They all say he didn’t mean what we think he meant. Reed didn’t realize what was coming he’s 18. His teammates wanted him to wear it, they set him up and he’s a nice guy. He’s just a pleaser. He wore the exact same shirt PJ Washington was given. Put 2 and 2 together. I admit I don’t see him the same at all, my son worshiped the guy. It’s tough, but Reed isn’t an Arkansas fan he was just showing support for his teammates. No he shouldn’t have done it, he’s said since he’s a Kentucky boy. Reed doesn’t care one iota about Arkansas. They don’t even register to him. Arkansas is a brand less no man’s land. Cal had to go somewhere and they’re the only ones to offer. Just have to deal with this mess for a few years and then every single player we’ve got, or the few that actually support him there, will have nothing to do with that place. It’s not Arkansas they support it’s Calipari. And Calipari is a snake and played the “feel sorry for me” routine to cause the rift. People buy his **** he’s always been a con man.

So Reed will only ever be at UK and I highly doubt you’ll ever see something like that again. His mother made a post insinuating God is about forgiveness, basically admitting he made a mistake. Unless something else happens, I’m just letting that go. His father earned enough respect here to let the family be. If he does it again I won’t feel the same but he won’t. Reed doesn’t care a single thing about Arkansas. Most of this is Calipari causing problems. He suckers people and he’s done it to Reed. My honest opinion.

I’ll say something similar in fewer words.

Reed supported both his teammates/coach he loves (Ark) and the school he loves (UK), but at the end of the day he’s a UK fan through-and-through.

If anyone holds a grudge or acts like a jilted 8th grade girl after she was dumped, that is on that person 100% and not Reed. Stop being emotional, jilted 8th graders.

Don’t forget, he also wore UK shorts. He has love for his former coach and his former school. Who else was like that? Mark Pope and a lot of the Kentucky players under Pitino. Hatred and stupidity almost always hold hands.

Reed shouldn’t have wore that Arkansas shirt. I just look at it like it was a young guy making a mistake. No point in getting mad about it.
Quit with the “young guy making a mistake“ nonsense.

He purposely, and deliberately had that planned, and made sure that everyone could see him wearing it. That’s not a “mistake”. It’s a total dick move.

Considering that Calipari took shots at Sheppard every chance he had, probably, not a smart move to piss off the Kentucky fanbase.

By the way, the last memory of Reed in a Kentucky jersey, was when he laid a turd on the court against mighty Oakland in the NCAA Tournament.

1-5…..3 points against the Juggernaut known as the Oakland Golden Grizzlies.

No, I’m not quitting with anything. It’s my opinion, and I feel that theirs nothing wrong with what I said. I said he shouldn’t have done it and I felt like he made a young kid mistake since he was just 20 years old at the time. No point in raising hell with me about it.

Do you think UK reaches the tournament without Reed? Serious question

When did Calipari "take shots" at Reed?

Yeah, but that’s the ‘Cat for Life’ cult. Other than themselves, very few pay any attention to them.
