Watching the game on DVR. In the 2nd QTR, 13:50 game time, Perkins runs it in from the 1. The camera close up shows the Ref yelling at him. Any idea why other then maybe the way he flipped the ball to him?

Saw it live, it seemed kind of pathetic from the ref. Perkins was clearly excited about the touchdown and attempted to flip the ball to him. I guess it hurt the ref's ****** because it didn't hit him in the chest. Next time I would have walked right up to him with the ball stretched out, then sat the 17er on the ground at his feet so he had to bend over and pick it up.

I was right there when he ran in and all the ref said was "Be Smart! Be Smart! Be Smart!"...he was shouting at him but it was ridiculously loud down there at the time....Perkins was pretty fired up and he was just trying to keep him from doing something stupid to get a penalty.

That's ironic. This was the same officiating crew that did the Vandy/S Cackalacky game.

Well then I stand corrected. It looked a lot different not standing there. It almost looked like he was chewing his *** out. My apologies to the ref. Keep on keeping on. By the way, nice picture of the exchange.

The SEC refs are for the most part middle aged white men who don't want to see any sort of celebration. Watch how many times they come SPRINTING over to a player or group of players to try and physically break up any potential act of celebration. Then of course there was this garbage.

I think also those guys don't want to be put in a position in any way shape or form to have to call a celebration penalty. I think the refs are being proactive for the most part and I'm good with it.
