I don't think it constituted taunting, but I've never seen a taunting flag picked up once it was thrown. And I'm 100% sure it wouldn't have been picked up if it was thrown on one of our players.
I love that one, I saw something that made me reach into my pocket, but oops no I didn't? Did he get talked out of throwing the flag by someone else? Just strange.

The way we win this game was by creating turnovers. We had a nice one negated by bs homecooking. We could have tied it up in the 3rd.

I can't recall a taunting flag being picked up. It is nonsensical. You didn't hear an expletive? You didn't see a push? You didn't see the incomplete gesture in the guys face? With any other call another ref can come in and say he had a better view. For this how does that work? No no no... when he gestured incomplete in the guys face and pushed him he only did it ... lightly?

Some very very questionable calls. The crazy fast whistle on 4th down wasn’t right!

"There are some things going on out there that aren't right" um, refs
I agree.. every time they allowed Michigan to move the pile.. no whistle until it was over. When we get a first down that way.. quick whistle.

When they don't blow it dead and ball comes out and Rutgers recovers.. sorry.. he was "down".. no video-review-stoppage from the booth... quick-snap by Michigan.. which tells you he actually had lost the ball.

When Michigan D makes the pile move backwards.. late whistle because.. maybe.. they can pull the ball out.

On a Michigan Pass TD on 3rd and 7 they throw a flag where there was no interference.. why? To make sure they at least get a first down.

When we get a run around end for 20 yards.. suddenly everything looks like a hold.. when Michigan runs well NOTHING looks like a hold.

Think about that motion call by the ref who lines up near the LBs. WTF was that? Just throw us a 5 yard penalty for no good reason. At best I think he saw teh whole Michigan D-line suddenly shift and mistook it for them being drawn offsides... no one on Rutgers did anything.. and they shifted sideways. But he shuts down the play and instead of saying inadvertent whistle.. he blames number 72 who had just been called for something.

Even if the refs were perfectly fair we lose this one... but, damn, I am tired of this ****.

To be clear, I am not saying it is the whole ref crew. But when one ref blows an early whistle they all blow their whistles. Otherwise, all it takes is a couple biased refs to make the whole called game unfair.

Anyone want to talk about how that was interference (ball was maybe too high to be called_.. but he hit a defenseless receiver and didn't even try to make a play on the ball BEFORE he taunted.

Really surprised they didn't review the fumble. Three RU players immediately signal turnover and the refs show confusion on the field, it needed review. No whistle and ball loose prior to rb being down on review. Forget with all the rule changes, could RU have called TO for a review? Would have been worth it.

I was at the game. Michigan fans weren't happy with them either. Guys watching on TV might have seen a better replay, but from what I could tell, it looked like they were screwed on the review of the spot when their player dove towards the first down marker along the sideline, as well as a weak pass interference call against them. Of course they didn't show a replay of the fumble in the stadium, we figured that wasn't a coincidence. Overall the standard of reffing is in serious need of improvement. No idea how to accomplish that though.

No, you don’t have a camera angle to over turn it.

It was def pi. It was early. The spot was questionable but they converted the 4th anyway. The calls against us (ie hold on pierce, taunt flag taken back and the next play is a pick 6) were way more impactful.

Besides the egregious plays in the videos a few spots we were never given forward progress. On two consecutive plays Monangai moves the pile, yet each play is spotted back 1 yd. resulting in a 3rd and 1 which we got stopped on.
This was driving me nuts. Same thing happened in the VT game.

when watching it a few times, it was more about where the ball was when the ball crossed the line. It could have been called either way but couldnt be reversed. Well- with these guys it could have. But it seemed they may have actually spotted it correctly as the ball crossed the line just before the 1st down marker.

And the forward progress on the one KM run was criminal. he ended up 2 yards past the line.

Didn’t we have a targeting flag picked up vs VT ?

In truth, the taunting call was not a legit penalty. However the refs got to that conclusion doesn’t matter.

The only ******** call which was indeed a killer was the holding call on Pierce on #5’s big gain early when up 7-0. The league does have brands to protect.

Just saw a phony holding call disallowing a LaTech kickoff return TD after a Nebraska touchdown.

That’s how it works.

Yes it were it crossed before going out of bounds. It couldn’t be overturned because you needed a bird’s eye view.

This.
Kyle moving the pile slowly…whistle.
Michigan RB moving the pile ..No whistle. Fumble. No wait he was stopped . No fumble.
Refs made sure this would not be a one score game.

It's not targeting. It was a taunting call. Are you a fan of Rutgers? Why are you here?

Exactly. And defender clearly shoved him AFTER the play. We can debate how hard the shove was, but it was still a shove (and after an early hit on the WR)

Was referring to getting a targeting flag picked up in our favor vs VT. I think also a PI flag picked up. Today, it was not a legit taunting penalty and the call was reversed, like it should have been.

the bs call was the hold on Pierce. Changed the trajectory of the game to UM’s benefit
