As has been referenced by others, that "phantom" holding call on Pierce was absolutely pivotal.
At that point, RU's up by 7 and driving, had gotten in Wolverine territory once again, and had Michigan on its heels. The Knights were picking up yardage in chunks and you could just feel the momentum on the Rutgers side of the ball. -If RU scores there and goes up 14 to zip, then who knows what the dynamic of the rest of the game would have been?
Now, am I saying that RU would have definitely won if not for that BS penalty? Absolutely not. -But had we scored another TD there, I have a feeling the game might have unfolded in a dramatically different way.
Of course, it's a moot point since we'll never know, but damn, at that moment, that bogus flag was an absolute KILLER.
