whether we're talking about head coach, staff or both, these things are very rarely, if ever, one-time lump sum payments. Add that to the fact most buyouts come with the restriction that any salary from similar employment is deducted from the agreed upon amount and I think the actual final number would be much less than what we think.
I guess it's feasible that all the bought out coaches could sit on their asses next season, and I'm sure the older guys like Woody, Campbell and Rockey will hang it up if they're let go, but the younger guys like Stringer, Cheese, Washington, etc would need to find new jobs if they want to build their coaching resumes.
