should the NCAA reward stupidity? I think so. He didn't do anything wrong besides being an idiot. He messed with the deadline and got bit. Suspend him for a few games and then let him play. That seems like the fair thing to do.

He didn't sign with an agent, he didn't go to any camps he wasn't supposed to go to, didn't receive any money.

That's all assuming of course.

I would say it's a different case if he "accidentally missed the deadline" but had dealings with an agent or went to some workouts. Did Dee even go to any workouts after declaring for the draft?

he missed the deadline by 12 hours. So - make him sit 3 or 4 games and move on and just to be fair - let exhibitions count like Mr. Wall.

and Bost really thought that he could stay in the draft, go undrafted and then still come back to school with no harm to his eligibility then shame on our staff and compliance folks for not educating him. Hard for me to believe they would not have drilled the NCAA new requirements into his head. However, I'm still not convinced that this isn't just the cover story now to try and get him back in after his bout of total stupidity.

but it should. Watch - UK's professional Turkish player will sit 3 games, with 2 being exhibitions, and Pearl, who lied to the NCAA (just like Sidney), won't be suspended for the 1.3 years (that Sidney got).

for the fact that Bost didn't know the rule. But he didn't do anything wrong besides being an idiot.

how it is f'n possible bost did not know the deadline. Seriously. Either the drama queen **** going on between bost and bury led to zero communication of the info, or our **** for brains coach didn't know the f'n deadline either.

I really need to stay out of bost threads. Makes me nuggin futs.

they had to tell the NCAA something in the reinstatement request...imply stupidity... or Bost was toast.

Bost was just pushing the limits.

KV was in frequent contact with him and I am sure he mentioned more than once the deadline date. Bost tweeted just before the deadline "I'm gone" or whatever. He knew exactly what he was doing. I'd say let him sit nine games, maybe he will take things a little more seriously next time.

my guess is that Stansbury and Bost never talked- (hell, Stansbury didnt know a thing about it when Veazey contacted him after the deadline)...and then once he stayed in, somebody told Bost he couldnt come back anymore should he not be drafted...then Europe didnt sound so appealling, and so he withdrew the next day and now here is where we are...

I heard that Bost was actually stupid enough to not makes his grades in the Spring on top of this, so he has at least one semester to sit to get his academic eligibility back

I am not denying the fact Bost knew the date. But he didn't do anything wrong besides miss the deadline. I think the punishment should not be as severe as lets say - John Wall.

I know someone close to the coaching staff and Bost's grades are fine. That was a rumor that was blown out of proportion.

I think the NCAA should make him sit out 5 games and then he has to wear dumbass on the back of his jersey all season

but MSU should toss him too.

I use quotes with saying his stupidity because its a total lie. He friggin flat out lied to the NCAA. I seem to remember so many here and in the media torching Bruce Pearl not so much for breaking the rules, but for lying(and deservedly so). Yet here is Bost who broke a rule and straight up lied to the NCAA when he gave his official explanation, but he should get to play with what amounts to not even a slap on the wrist but a flick?

He first said he was gone and didnt care if he was drafted. Then he said he was in on the last day to withdraw. Then he told the staff the next day that he was staying in. Then he said he just didnt get the paperwork in to withdraw in time. Then he said he didnt know the deadline date. Then he said he knew the deadline date, but he didnt realize he couldnt go thru the draft while not hiring an agent and come back if not drafted.

That simply doesnt make sense and his official response, as reported by KV a month or two ago, totally contradicts everything that he said in tweets and interviews.
So he was either lying the whole time leading up to the draft or he is lying to the NCAA.
Either way, not too sure why MSU would want that sort of player not just on the team, but the floor leader. He is the person who has to be the coach's voice on the floor. He clearly hasnt been able to consistently do that as evidenced by his inability to understand that you can get a 25' shot anytime in the shotclock yet he jacks em up without even passing each and every game.
Seriously, why would MSU want someone who is so ignorant and irresponsible that they dont even know about the most important date of their life/career? Or why would they want someone who either lied to everyone leading up to the draft deadline or is currently lying to the NCAA now? Why would this sort of person be a good choice to the the floor general?

The above is serious but still sorta not serious. Its taken to an extreme, sure. Im a ***** and since his talents on the court outweigh his dumassedness off the court and his random antics on the court, i will take him every day of the week...especially when the alternative is Tranny.
But while its taken to an extreme, its also something that you really cant argue unless you just want to say the end justifies the means.

If he is declared eligible, MSU fans will no longer have any room to accuse other programs of being treated better than us or that we are always getting screwed while the big programs get breaks.
If he is declared ineligible, he is getting what was coming to him per the rules. Really cant complain about that. And while his talent will be missed, i doubt his attitude on the court and questionable decision making at times will be missed.

Because I learned that I'd better get used to having to pick between a douche and a turd sandwich because it's usually the choice I'll have. And without Bost as a potential person to lead the team I don't have a choice in the matter....just a turd sandwich.

After a night to sleep on it, our **** for brains PLAYER realized that he had <17>ed up bigtime and is trying to make any excuse in the world to be allowed to return to college basketball.
