isn't it his amature status in question, not his grades? although i'm not sure thats the case, if it is, why can't he just enroll as a student and if he is declared eligible, we won't have to worry about the deadline for registering. if he isn't eligible, 17 it, quit school and go to europe for a year. i know you have a certain amount of time to drop classes before you pay.

and they are strictly guesses: 1. we don't want to piss off the ncaa and act like this thing is going to get done and/or 2. there is not benefit to going through the trouble of enrolling until August so why do it.

Im sure there is a real reason, but that's my only guess.

Sidney didn't finish school until middle of June so he could have only gone to the 2nd summer term if that was even possible.

The "enrollment" that the coaches probably wanted was the second term of summer school which started this week. Once that wasn't going to happen, focus switched to August, and there is no rush on that one right now. I would also guess there is a financial piece to it. If he is not cleared and doesn't come to State, why do anything now that could generate charges like register for classes and then have to go through the withdrawal process to make sure you aren't responsible for any of those charges. It's just easier in their situation to do nothing.

The kid is big and lazy on the basketball floor, I assume he would be the same in school. Why go to school if you can't play basketball? It's all about the $$$$.
