I had no idea you guys were recruiting this kid when I posted. This is obviously a very recent turn of events. I had never seen him mention MSU (I did just go back and see where he said that he may make MSU his last visit, but I had to search both networks for one article where he mentioned MSU.

"I am visiting Alabama on January 9, Clemson on January 16 and LSU on January 23. Those three are probably in front right now. I still might take a fourth visit but I'm not sure if I will want to or if I will have time," Kelly said. "Auburn, Florida, FSU, Oregon and now maybe Mississippi State are the ones I would consider for the last visit.

With that said, I wasn't "bashing" the guy because I think you are actually a contender for him. He has been a Bama/LSU/Clemson guy from the beginning. The point I was making is that he started the season as a highly rated 5*, yet he hasn't done jack **** to prove that he deserves the ranking. I contend that if he were seriously considering schools like MSU/OM, scout would have downgraded him by now considering the season he had. Players with the same offers and better performances on their senior seasons aren't ranked as high. As evidence to my claims, I offer:

WR, 6-4/210, Gadsden (Ala.) Gadsden City
He has been bothered with a hamstring for a good chunk of the season, but really was not consistent catching the ball in practice. At least two other receivers on his team appeared to have better weeks.
Honorable Mention: RB LaDarius Perkins, 5-9/180, Greenville (Miss.) St. Joseph

Senior Stats (2008): Kelly rushed for 78 yards on 13 carries for a six yard average. He also caught nine passes for 130 yards for a 14.44 yard average. Kelly returned one kickoff for 38 yards. The senior scored five touchdowns in a season that saw limited playing time due to injury.

I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say the guy is slightly overrated with the above stats and performance. Personally, I think you are in on better players than this guy.

Sorry if I hurt some sensitive feelings with my post earlier. If anything, I considered it bashing a Bama guy.
I didn't realize that the possibility of getting a visit from this guy made him "your guy". In that case I need to start preparing a party because Reuben Randle "may" be visiting OM. We have about as much chance at signing him as you guys do Kelly. Party on, Garth.

Its ironic that the article also mentions L. Perkins. I heard a rumor that he is a private commit to MSU. His stock may be dropping but his video on Scout is playstation-esque. I know he plays 1A but he is by far the best player on the field.
