what are your expectations record-wise next year? The year after? How long does this next guy have? How soon bowl game? How soon top 5 SEC bowl? Will you expect more or less if the new HC is a coordinator?

no expectations.

Year 2 - 5-7 or 6-6.
Year 3 - have to go bowling.
Year 4 - if you didn't go bowling, do or die. If you did previous year, I expect at least the same or possibly 8-4..

is:

at Florida
Georgia
at Bama
at Ole Miss
at LSU

Still doable, but FL and GA on the schedule at the same time is rough.

will not be nearly as favorable as this year.

Only one man could've screwed this year up.

The way I see it, for you, and this goes for us as well, is that if you bring in a coach that can average 7 wins a year or more, then he's doing a great job. 70+ wins over a 10 year period or 35+ wins over a 5 year period are great.

And I think you can definitely have a shot at 6 next year if you make a good hire and definitely a shot at 6 in Year 2.

Reason I say that is because I was looking at UK who had basically no QB this year, and they managed to get to 6. Granted, it took a weak OOC slate (4-0), and 2 very fortunate 1 point wins in conference against teams that were down, but they still got to 6. There are enough programs in the SEC right now that are in flux or are down that you can get to 6 soon.

Me? I expect to beat Jackson State, Houston and Middle Tenn.

I expect to be at least competitive with Vandy, Kentucky, Arkansas and OM.

Last year we had Auburn targeted as a sure loss. You can't ever tell about scheduling. It was believed that Alabama had a hell of a schedule at one time, now people are calling it one of the easiest schedules.

We should have a minimum 5 wins every year.

Then Scott Field renamed for the coach taking us to 4 straight bowl games.... and Statue placed in the middle of malfunction junction.

No expectations meant no bowl game to me. In Year 2, I expect to sniff a bowl game.

it's not that hard to not get blown out by everybody.

Year 1 - Better Fundamentals. Development of offense. Redshirt Russell. Lose a lot on both sides of the ball.

Year 2 - Tough Schedule. Expect solid recruiting class. Develop depth. Win games supposed to, don't get blown out.

Year 3 - Minor to Mid Bowl Game.

Year 4 - Match Year 3 performance.

from Fla or Georgia to make me think that's a good thing. I'd much rather it be vandy, SC, or TN.

Its not subjective..the word your looking for is that its unpredictable.

LSU, FL and Bama. Those will all be loses by 3 TD's or more. LSU will be the worst of the 3, but a decade tells the tale.

Folks hear Florida and Georgia and go all crazy. Florida I can understand. Georgia? Eh, depends on when you play them. And if Moreno and Stafford are back. Hell we almost beat that bunch with Henig at the helm.

Last year it was Auburn and LSU.

Call him has been, whatever, his record and Holtz's show how hard it is in the SEC. A great QB could make difference as it did when Eli was playing and get you 10. Jackie was on the verge but got killed when the JC recruiting went south. 6 is a great average, unless we just get someone who becomes Superstar.

but Houston will kick our asses next year.

The fewest amount of points they put up against anyone this season was 23, and were only held below 30 3 times. Since our defense will be hindered by a lot of graduations this year I don't expect that we will be able to stop them that often.

I hope I'm wrong, obviously.

I just want to be able to watch a game without being embarrassed or losing my voice from yelling at the stupidity.

Definitely want to see use win more than we lose consistently- that is key for me.

My expectations are that we at least go to a bowl next year. I think that we can win six with some fresh blood, especially since we won four with morons. We better run it up on JSU, and I think we should be able to beat Vandy, MTSU. Now, I expect to win some games that could go either way- like UK, Houston, and I think we can probably beat Auburn next year, along with Arkansas which should be better next year. We win two of those and that's 5. We upset someone and that's six.

I'll give the new coach a pass on year one regardless, but that's what I expect for year one.

I expect us to go to a bowl the next year and at least seven every year from then on.
