The way I see it, for you, and this goes for us as well, is that if you bring in a coach that can average 7 wins a year or more, then he's doing a great job. 70+ wins over a 10 year period or 35+ wins over a 5 year period are great.
And I think you can definitely have a shot at 6 next year if you make a good hire and definitely a shot at 6 in Year 2.
Reason I say that is because I was looking at UK who had basically no QB this year, and they managed to get to 6. Granted, it took a weak OOC slate (4-0), and 2 very fortunate 1 point wins in conference against teams that were down, but they still got to 6. There are enough programs in the SEC right now that are in flux or are down that you can get to 6 soon.
