Unless..........

They lose the 1st game

Hey, I know that is a distinct possibility. Would I be disappointed? I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be, but having one game sure beats not being in the dance at all, even if it is just by a little bit.

Its the opponent.
Any other team and youre right.

The elephant in the room is that the fanbase is still divided. A loss to Minnesota would be dreg to a unexpectedly good season. The NCAA did UofL no favors by matching up the 2 teams.

Tim Sullivan stated today on the V show he attempted to get a comment from the NCAA committee on their reason for putting U of L and Minn against each other and their response was 'NO COMMENT' hmm. Even his contrite self felt that was a very low move of them . That is unecessary stress on all parties involved i hear some radio folks local trying to down play it. I'm pretty sure they are hoping cards lose also.

I don’t think teams are supposed to get a “favor”. What team got a obvious favor? Duke? They were the overall #1 and should therefore get the easiest “perceived” path, which very seldom plays out.

On the flip side of your post Kerry the Minnesota fans up here don't even know the history between the Pitino's and U of L. A guy on my job tried to trash talk about U of L losing on Thursday and it came out wrong on his part. Up here they don't have any pro or any decent college teams so they all flock to the Minnesota teams or the packers. When I said something about the Pitino's angle he had no clue what I was talking about. As you can tell I live in sports hell up here, thank goodness for you guys on here or I would be screwed.

The NCAA engineered this pairing.

It feels good to be back in The Dance. It just isn't the same when the Cards aren't part of March Madness.

2 tournament no shows, one tournament win the last 4 years, yes, it feels great to be back. I can't envision they'll make a deep run, but at the moment:

A team that didn't get a favor- Michigan State. They were arguably a one seed. The first 2nd seed. You don't put the #1 2 seed in the same bracket with the overall #1 seed.

Yeah I too felt Michigan State should have been a 1 seed over Gonzaga since they didn't win their conference tourney, and Michigan State won the B1G regular season (tied with Purdue), and the B1G tourney. The B1G is much stronger than the WCC is.

Let me ask but I probably already know. Which 1 seed should they replace? Gonzaga? The #2 team in NET rankings and the only team to beat with Zion? On the other hand State lost to Indiana twice and to us. Langford is not coming back this season.
