https://www.harpcrate.com/vafs has the following for Region 4B after last night's games. There was some movement. If this is correct, Spotsylvania wasn't locked into 8th - they moved up to 6th.
1 Dinwiddie 32.8 10-0
2 Louisa 31.4 10-0
3 Huguenot 31.1 9-1
4 Varina 30.9 8-2
5 Courtland 29.6 9-1
6 Spotsylvania 26.7 7-3
7 Caroline 26.6 8-2
8 Hanover 26.1 7-3

These would be the opening round matchups:
Hanover at Dinwiddie
Caroline at Louisa
Spotsylvania at Huguenot
Courtland at Varina

Going to be a tall order for the Battlefield to get a win in round 1. Caroline needs a stronger OOD schedule in the future.

Yes, the official brackets and final ratings have been released.
Top Bracket
#1 Dinwiddie vs. #8 Hanover
#4 Varina vs #5 Courtland
Bottom Bracket
#2 Louisa vs. #7 Caroline
#3 Huguenot vs. #6 Spotsylvania

Seedings only provide home field advantage. This is a dang gauntlet. If your goal is to make it to the regional final and don't care about a championship then brackets matter.

I know there have been a lot of naysayers regarding the ratings; however, the Region B rating committee which I am part of stuck with the original rules (only disqualified boarding school teams for riders) and was totally transparent. There was no controversy and ratings were posted no later than Sunday. It's 8:00 am on Saturday and the brackets are already public. When has that ever happened? Not asking for props. Just letting you know this group worked hard to be consistent and fair. Have fun in the playoffs.

The speed in which the brackets have been officially announced is pretty unprecedented. So good on 4B for getting them out ASAP.

Not sure if a couple of regions still have to wait for theirs to be announced based on two games around the state today. But nonetheless, it was nice to see some regions make it a Number 1 priority to get the information and pairings released.

In all fairness to Lora Bickley, formerly from the VHSL she did the whole state (region). I can tell you doing just one region is a chore. Can't imagine doing everything. She was quite impressive. People don't realize it's not just numbers. Confirming (validating) scores is a huge task, because schools don't report them timely. It's impossible to use score stream and MaxPreps due to accuracy matters. Out of the state games require trusted sources (association contacts) and the private schools are a huge problem. Personally, I would like to see playing them forbidden. Especially boarding schools. It cost Huguenot the #1 or #2 seed (riders). Trust me staying up until 3-4 in the morning (Fri-Sat) and then hitting it again later on Saturday to get the points out by Sunday morning can be rough on an old fellow. The people who complain just don't appreciate the effort and I'm good with that. We handled the cards we were dealt well and I am proud of that. The VHSL needs to be really evaluated hard. Very expensive and ineffective party planner.
