Region A Class 1

Now that all of the forfeits are out of the way for Region A (CC and WP) what are your thoughts on the regional semi-final games? Rappahannock taking the trip to Northampton is interesting for me. An 8-2 team traveling to a 9-1 team 3ish hours away seems to favor the home team. But at the same time, I feel that Rappahannock is more battle-tested than Northampton. Should be a good game. Now the Essex and Northumberland game may not be as hyped up as it could be, but I feel that this game could be within 7 when the clock strikes 0. These teams met previously ending 62-42.

Essex will be better prepared and it won’t be close

Sounds like Essex is on a mission to return to Salem. I think Altavista could play with them and maybe give them a go, but surely have to favor Essex. Riverheads is tough also and Rapp, but Essex seems to be clicking on all cylinders. Going to be very difficult for any Class 1 team to beat them, but it is possible. Essex is the best team I think in the state, but they are beatable, but it will take some help, turnovers for the opponent.

I think Northumberland presents more of a challenge than Rappahannock. Essex does better defending the run game. They have had trouble this year with defending the passing game. Unfortunately for Northumberland the defense cannot stop Essex.
