Region A Volleyball updates - Rappahannock & Middlesex start undefeated

Rappahannock Raiders defeated West Point at home last night 3-0. RHS won over Lancaster last week as well, also 3-0.

The Lady Raiders start the season 3-0 (9-0 in sets). All starters are underclassman (many 10th and 9th graders).

Next match is at Lancaster (glad Lancaster started playing sports).

Middlesex defeated traditional volleyball power Mathews 3-0 last night.

King William defeated King and Queen 3-0.

Mathews plays at Northumberland tonight.

In other Region A sports news, Essex finally voted to approve some sports (just Spring).

I was told that one strong school board member tried to get Essex to play fall sports like Football and Volleyball (and the others refused to even vote). Pathetic.

Rappahannock is now 5-0. Rapp defeated Lancaster 3-0 and Mathews 3-1 this week.

Middlesex is 4-0. Middlesex defeated West Point 3-0 this week.

Northumberland Lady Indians won over Mathews at home earlier this week in a close one 3 to 2!

Rappahannock (5-0) travels to Middlesex (4-0) for a battle of the undefeated Region A powers this Monday!

This will be a rematch of last year's Region A Championship thriller held in Middlesex (won by Rapp 3-2).

Middlesex knocked off Rapp 3-1 this week in Saluda. The Lady Raiders won the 1st set then Middlesex got hot and rolled.

I believe that Middlesex is now 6-0.

Northumberland defeated West Point 3-1 and Lancaster 3-1 this week.

Northumberland goes to Rappahannock tomorrow night for the rematch district game.
