Region B

As far as I know, all four Regions in Class 5 have NOT officially decided to send 8 teams to the playoffs. I do know that this seems to be the most likely final choice by all four conferences.

Assuming this will be the format, pick the 8 teams that YOU think will be playoff bound after 10 regular season games. I know that this can be a little tough, since only about 1/3 of the teams have released their full schedules.

Pick your teams in order of #1 to #8. And keep this in mind when you rank your teams, VHSL points!
A 6-4 team could well be ranked #2 or #3 because of points.

And, pick one, and only one #9 wildcard team that you think could very well make the playoffs if the stars line up.

I Don't think there is a more brutal region at any level in which to make the playoffs.

IMO this is the hardest region in the state regardless of classification. There are a lot of 5-6 win teams that would do damage in other regions.

1.) Hermitage - (9-1) Beats HS this time but loses to Manchester
2.) HS - (9-1) slight let down after 2 state championships (falls asleep at wheel one game) Hardest schedule in the region!
3.) Bird (8-2) Tough games against (TD, Man, Mon) I say they could lose 2/3.
4.) Varina (7-3) Hard schedule but on the verge of becoming the "old Varina"
5.) Atlee (7-3) tough schedule... 7-3 might be celling
6.) DF (8-2) but schedule is very light. Loses to Herm and slips to either James river, LD or Atlee.
7.) Lee Davis (7-3)
8.) Matoaca (7-3) tough schedule (Dinwiddie, TD, Cosby, Varina) might start 1-3
9.) Henrico (6-4) Falls apart at end of year. Happens too often.
10.) Meadowbrook (6-4) 6 win celling. Tough 5a & 6a opponents and then you get Dinwiddie as your only 4A... Bad luck! Could be best 500 team in the state by years end.
11.) Deep Run (5-5)
12.) Godwin (5-5) always a tough out

Tucker, PG & GA all have 5 win ceilings. Meadowbrook and Henrico are interchangeable at 9 & 10.

1. Herm (Thought they would shock the state and win this year but Wilborn's injury really hurt. Jay Carney looks like he's going to be one of the top QB's in RVA this year.)
2. HS (TOUGHEST schedule in the state).
3. Bird (Bird will be Bird: the program is that good)
4. Freeman
5. Varina (If Mbonape is right about them getting back to their old ways then WATCH OUT)
6. MBK
7. Matoaca
8. Atlee
