As far as I know, the 4 Regions in Class 2 have NOT officially decided to send 8 teams to the playoffs. I have no information on which to base this, but an 8 team per region seems like a logical choice.

Assuming this will be the format, pick the 8 teams that YOU think will be playoff bound after 10 regular season games. I know that this can be a little tough, since only about 1/3 of the teams have released their full schedules.

Pick your teams in order of #1 to #8. And keep this in mind when you rank your teams, VHSL points!
A 6-4 team could well be ranked #2 or #3 because of points.

And, pick one, and only one #9 wildcard team that you think could very well make the playoffs if the stars line up.

This list is in alphabetical order, and comes from the VHSL website.

REGION C, 13 Schools

APPOMATTOX
BUCKINHAM COUNTY
CHATHAM
DAN RIVER
FLOYD COUNTY
FORT CHISWELL
GILES
GLENVAR
GRETNA
JAMES RIVER BUCHANAN

Not as up on Region C as I am Region D, but I'll take a crack at it.

1. Appamattox
2. Dan River
3. Giles
4. Martinsville
5. Glenvar
6. Buckingham
7. Radford
8. Gretna

9. James River

Only feel good about the top 3 or 4 that I posted here, don't know much about the others, just going on past performance.

1.Dan River (IF they have solid QB play..Power points alone should give them the 1 spot barring more than 1 loss)
2. Appomattox
3. Giles
4. Buckingham
5. Radford
6.Glenvar
7. Chatham
8. Martinsville

9. Gretna (Hope I'm wrong and the Hawks have a good year).

@MascotMemorizer who's it looking like so far to take Zemar's spot a QB?

I still think that Appomattox is heads and shoulders above everybody else. They have 2 guys with d-1 offers and a great program in place. I'm curious if they were able to fill out their schedule

Advocate had stated not long ago that there would be a slip in talent at Appo. I in deed think they will be at the top, but they lost A LOT of production for this year. Graves and Scroggins are a hell of a tandem to say the least and will automatically make this team formidable. In this region I only see Dan River as a threat to them, as they were last year. Giles, traditionally, has a rich history and could prove me wrong. I don't think Appomattox will be as dominant as they have been in the past 2 years but they will be the favorite to 3 peat. It won't be as easy as it was this past year. A lot of great teams in Graham, Union, Clarke, Goochland, Stuart's Draft, and of course big bad Richlands, who you have to bet will be breathing down Appo's neck at the top.

I truly think Union will come strong this year, Giles as well. Appo D will not be as great as the previous 2 years, just saying and calling it like it is. Hard to replace the speed that we had in past. Fundamentally, they will be sound due to great coaching, but the excessive speed will not be there. I know we lost 4 starting OLineman that had been there for 3 years. That is the biggest concern.

Y'all better watch out for those Bulldawgs this year. I'm not saying "State" but they will shock some teams this year.

We are talking about Martinsville Bulldogs, correct? Not Tazewell Bulldogs? No offense to Tazewell, I think they may squeak into the playoffs as well. I wonder how they will adjust to a new coach, however. (Both Tazewell and Martinsville getting new coaches)

My Dawgs will be young but competitive. TJ Pettway is uncoverable.
I'd like to see him in more packages this year. RB, a little QB on the read option, and WR. Just throw the ball in the air and he'll catch it. If I'm not mistaken, Martinsville returns some good sized lineman. They were top 3 biggest lines in the Piedmont with Magna Vista and Franklin County. They got themselves a pretty darn good coach in Tanner. Pettway WILL have himself some respectable offers by the end of the year. Dawgs will be young but they will be ready come playoff time.

DSH, I doubt he'll see any time at RB or QB. I would however place in the Slot, Flanker and WR sets. He has the potential to be 1at team in football and basketball.

What type offense will Tanner run? Have you heard? I doubt the single wing will fit Martinsville's personnel.
