Gate City started out 0-2 and lost by 50 points to Radford. Lost the first game to Richlands who didn't make the playoffs, then has won 8 of 9 games and has beat Union twice this season. Gate City is starting to morph into the old Gate City many of us older generation folks are all too familiar with. The future looks very good in Gate City, VA, but that's next year's future. In the near future, Gate City travels to Mitchell Stadium to play Graham.

Yes, Jones. He’s probably the best overall QB in region D but that’s only my opinion; others would argue it’s O’Quinn or Creasy but I’ve seen all of them play & Jones is just a natural, great throwing arm, run well…

That's a huge loss. I was just reading about him in the Bristol paper the other day and how he was getting D1 looks for defense. Prayers for a speedy recovery

Jones is the best QB in D and he's arguably the Region D player of the year. Big loss for VH

Had surgery to repair compound fracture of the tibia, no ligament damage per post on the other message board.

Yeah in the article it mentioned baseball too, but it said it looked like football was his best chance at playing D1 at the next level. He's gotten looks from VT, ODU, Richmond and VMI thus far, per the article
