Broad Run, Lake Taylor, Louisa, Glass (yes I know Salem is ranked first in region but without question Glass has been the favorite all year.)
How many will win their region?
Who is most likely to get upset?
Who will win it all?

IF all four are close to full strength, I’d say they all will probably win their regions. However, both Broad Run and Louisa seem to be dealing with injuries to their quarterbacks; I don’t know the severity of those injuries, or how long those players will be out. But that could conceivably open the door for others in their respective regions, such as Tuscarora or even Liberty in C, and Eastern View or Dinwiddie in B. I’m certainly not giving up on Salem. I think if the Spartans face Glass, they could give the Hilltoppers all they want - IF they were to play as well as they are capable. But who knows if Salem would play that well, or if that indeed would be enough. As you indicated, there’s good reason why Glass has been the Region D favorite since April.

I think Broad Run might be the most likely to be upset, due chiefly to the fact that Tuscarora already showed that they are very capable of beating Broad Run. And that was when Broad Run’s qb wasn’t dealing with an injury, if I’m not mistaken. A healthy Broad Run might be the overall favorite statewide, but they have the misfortune of having the team that very well could be the overall second-favorite in their region.

I still see whoever survives between Broad Run and Tuscarora as most likely to win it all, followed by E. C. Glass. No disrespect meant towards any of the contenders from the other regions, most of whom could very well be capable of doing it.

Odds to be beaten in regional play:

Broad Run 65%. Tusky's defense is nasty. They can beat them.
Glass 50%. If Salem gets there I would not count them out. Kendrick will be a huge problem for them though. Glass can stop the Salem run game.
Lake Taylor 45%. Churchland is the only hope. Great defense and a senior led team.
Louisa 15% Louisa has continued to build their program. Too many seniors with playoff experience and tons of talent. Not sure anyone in B can beat them.

My guess is 3 of 4 will make it. Tusky represents C.

Agree, Tuscarora is a top notch program. When we played them in the last cycle they reminded me of EV but better. Their defense was nasty.

I’ll be surprised if Glass beats Salem. I haven’t bought in to the Glass bandwagon
Have you seen them play? They are quite good. Their defensive front 7 is rock solid. Not saying Salem can't beat Glass, but they deserve their spot at the top.

They won! They did lose in overtime to the defending Class 3 State Champions Heritage who will likely be in the final 4 this year. Take a look at Kendrick and companies offense. Every good team has one off night or bad game. Again it's a 50-50 game. Salem doesn't throw well and EC Glass strength is their front 7. The Glass offense (spread) and a mobile qb has given Salem fits in the past. Respect both programs, so I have no dog in the fight. Just a hunch. By the way Glass has given up 135 points this season. 12 points a game.
