We can't afford to keep trotting Fitts out there as a starter. I think Laster has to take his spot and pitch the first game, followed by Mitchell, Bracewell, and Brown.

Fitts has a sub 2 era. A .250 baa. 5-1 k to bb ratio. He is just fine. He just gets yanked too early

Agreed. It's brown who needs to come out of the pen. Since his I injury I think he's started 4 games with only 1 good outing, counting last weekend 1/3 of an inning as a bad one.

Yeah. He's just fine as a reliever. He gets pulled because he loses it after 2-4 innings. And we can't have our starter on day one of a regional not going more innings than that.

Agree about Brown. I've moved him to #4 and really only then if Fitts doesn't have to pitch in relief in the first 3 games.

That's what I figured. Just giving you a hard time. I agree that Fitts does get pulled too early sometimes, but in this situation, I'm ok with bringing in a guy who Ks over 50% of the batters he faces. Fitts just wasn't as sharp as usual tonight

If we start Laster and Mitchell in games 1 and 2, they should both go deep into the games. Best case we go 2-0 and have almost all of the pen to try to win the Regional, but even if we lose one, we've still got a shot with the whole pen rested. I save Fitts for game 3.

Cohen doesn't look as Fitts as the starter.

Cohen only wants Fitts to go through the lineup once. Anything after that is bonus. That's why he has such a short leash on Fitts.

Fitts is the perfect game one starter IMO, bc he will be facing a 3 seed. He has looked really good lately, especially against the mid to bottom of the SEC which is equivalent to what he'll be facing game 1. I would much rather have Laster pitching to close out the Regional potentially, than to have Fitts facing the #1 seed in the Regional final. Fitts isn't flashy, so he doesn't give you that confident feeling when he starts...but he usually does well and rarely walks anybody (before last night). I say let him take down #3 and shelf him for the weekend, win/win

I agree, there are things they are looking for as danger signs with Fitts and

when they see them they don't hesitate which I agree with. Pitching is a mental game, you have to be able to battle through things with the batters and with yourself, Fitt's is getting there.
