The thing about Cohen is everyone in the baseball world knows what he is like, and if you sign up to play for him you know what you are getting into. That appeals to some players, and some players it does not. Obviously, the ones it doesn't appeal to will simply go somewhere else.
But to your point, it shows that we are establishing good recruiting ties, and it shows that players are recognizing the progress that we're making. Not very many players want to play for a team that is rebuilding, obviously. Having three straight losing seasons hurt us in recruiting- I think we did pretty good considering that, and considering that we had an entirely new coaching staff. Cohen did recruit well at UK, but his classes didn't pick up until about his third or fourth year after UK started to win decent amount of games. But, that's to be expected of a program that was in our situation.
