This was FAR worse than what the Ole Miss player did to get suspended earlier in the year. That was a harder hit, but at least the ball was still in play when the hit was made (it made it look worse when the UTEP receiver let up and got alligator arms).

Reid hit the guy well after the ball was on the ground. But we'd be kidding ourselves if we think Slive will do anything about that. Not only is this LSU, but they're playing Bama next. No chance he has to sit.

Did I see a different play from you guys? I mean it was a terrible play and definitely a penalty for being stupid and launching at the guy late. The replay clearly showed that he barely even hit the guy with his shoulder hitting his chest at an angle, not even squarely. It isn't like he hit him in the head or targeted his knees.

Stupid play, but vicious?
