The thing now is go somewhere and get mins, playing time, and reps and if you do well you can hit the portal to bigger schools if they desire to.
Absolutely. I know Duke and UNC would have been football scholarships and then walk on basketball, but didnt App and BC offer in both sports?
Then why go to a mid major when a power 5 school was an option? Proximity played a factor Im sure. I know Coach Jones has been after Neal from the get go so that played a part too im sure. Either way, amazing things are in store for this young man. Would have been nice to see him play football, too, though LOL

Hard and probably promised to put the ball in his hand pretty early. Coach ross mentioned they put together a nice nil package as well.
I do wish he would’ve played f ball as well, he’s an all time ram for football and basketball

Last time I checked Breon Pass has earned his college degree and is now playing basketball overseas...Maybe you should birth a star athlete and then you can advise him/her how to live their OWN life...Finally, how many 4star-5star athletes have went to UNC over the past 5 years and have done absolutely nothing? More than a few...and lots of them from the Greensboro triad area

Uncg has been decent in basketball. They’ve been close to getting over that hump to making the tournament the last few years. By that I meant they’ve had good regular seasons, just have been losing in conference tournament. They’ve made the tournament some years as well. I can see Dionte helping them get to the tournament and hopefully winning a game
@Deana_King This is interesting, and I know there is a football aspect since he's a two-sport athlete, but are we going to get a forum to talk about other high school sports so that we don't have to clutter up the football boards to talk about other kids or teams that are doing well in other sports?

You know, it was a simple question without any hostility, just to see what Deanna has in mind. In the past we've had forums on the other site where people could talk about baseball, soccer, wrestling or what have you because we enjoy high school sports. Most people are here for football, but I know there are others here who participated in those discussions who might enjoy doing so again. I think there are several of us who are curious and all we need is a yes or no answer. If no, then maybe we'll try to work something else out, but I don't see how I've crossed a line by asking.
The question was fine. I don’t have control over what forums this site can have. I have put in a request to On3 to get a basketball board.

Just an "other sports" board. Lots of people love talking about wrestling and I know both of us were in the soccer threads before. I'm excited now that we have the new format that some schools who haven't been competitive for a state championship will now have a better chance in minor sports.
Because uncg is like a community college. Terrible in all areas. Greensboro is a terrible town. I did produce two all state football and basketball players. Not sure what you're getting at..... Unc has had tons of stars recently lol. Neal is neither 4 or 5 star player. Way to small to play basketball in college or nba. Like said above, great slot wr. Wish the kid had some smarter voices in his ear. Best of luck but won't hear from Neal again at or after uncg lol. Pass earned a degree? Of course he did very smart young man. But had terrible voices in his head. He should be in the nfl playing the slot as well. Reidsville only worried about high-school football titles lol not sending kids to the league. Super weird to me.....

Dionte will do well at UNCG. I'm sure it was a tough decision but he is a talented point guard and in college very difficult to play both sports. One of best competitors I've seen and always showed good sportsmanship.

Great kid and player. Coached against him the last couple of years and best high school PG I have ever seen. Congrats to Dionte and family. His dad seems like a great guy as well.
Anyone that knew the situation was not surprised he choose basketball over football, or in this case playing both as just football was never an option.
I've heard they are Duke fans got to be good people lol. So much is put into height but Neal is so good on defense with steals.
Thrive at uncg? Is like thriving at the local YMCA. .. That's what's wrong with the sports world today. Hit the portal. Play for four teams in four years chasing a bag. You guys are nuts over there. Hope the best for the young man. In no way shape or form hating on him lol

It isn’t about this particular kid. This guy enjoys berating and making fun of every kid on here that gets a scholarship or plays at a high level. They all suck and make bad decisions, or the colleges make decisions in offering, in his eyes. If the kid is white, it’s even worse.
