The fumble with a little over 3 minutes (?) left in the game was a killer for the Blue Devils.
The tover cost them. Not that penalty. Brevard has some crazy fans, several constantly yelling at the coaches. Brevard dished me up some crow. They deserved to win the game but Reidsville found a way to win, which great programs do. Great high school football game
what I need to know is why we seemed surprised when Brevard did their pooch onside kick....?? Evidently Brevard have been doing it all year.....kickoff coverage by Rams was poor and kick return for Rams was poor....those need addressing...........
total lack of class from brevard. yelled obscenities at ram players leaving the field at halftime. players charging at refs and fans having to restrain each other on the field afterwards. a big black eye for an excellent football team and a great football game. they had reidsville on the ropes. but rams showed that champions die hard.i was on field after game and was stunned at some of the language from brevard people. a less than awful example of teaching your kids how to handle adversity. there could be a fine or two from chapel hill over this one and they deserve every penny they have to pay.

Congratulations Rams on getting to the state championship......again!
The Rams have really done well for a team with sophomores all over the field. This team has strong vocal seniors that have played in varsity games since the 9th grade. They have had to show that experience over the last couple of weeks. The younger 10th and 11th grade rams pay attention to those Seniors and continue to step up.
There was 1:18 remaining when Brevard used its final time out before the Rams' fourth-and-one play at the Red Devils' 11. Then there was the disputed no-call and then Canada, with great second effort, got the first down. Even if the penalty had been called, Brevard would have had 80-some yards to go with no time-outs and less than a minute to go.
I noted on the roster before the game that there are only 6 seniors (plus the kicker) who see a lot of playing time for Reidsville.
Another huge penalty on Brevard came on Reidsville's go-ahead touchdown by Kwame Davis. The facemask call was marked off on the kickoff and allowed Baber to kick it in the end zone. Given Reidsville's woeful kickoff coverage in this game (and other games this season) it was HUGE making Brevard start their final drive on the 20-yard line.
The refs were out of Raleigh. The Brevard fans attacked the officalso leaving the field. Threw a bottle and hit one of the refs in the face
on another note. another less than stellar show of support from fans. the fans there were great, but community will not come out and support this program. what a shame. stands should be packed for games like this. nowhere near capacity on home side. shameful. these boys deserve better support.
does anyone have video of the ending of the game. those of us that wasnt there would like to see it.
it was cold and Reidsville fans are absolutely spoiled....Brevard brought a huge crowd (almost 4 hrs....1 way).....To Reidsville fans Regional finals are just another game....(since 2002...they've appeared in 12 regional final games)...sad to say but I think it's true....Brevard fans were excited to be there...it had been a long time....................I still say the student support is not what it should be...........................
Just wondering. I heard some of the Brevard fans commenting that it was hard to beat a team and there hometown Refs. I doubt that those Refs had seen Reidsville or Brevard before last night.
that's funny right there....everyone should know nchsaa assigns refs from out of the area of teams involved to all playoff games......
First off I want to Congratulate the Rams on the win, and congratulations also to the Bluedevils on a great season....
Listening to the game, the difference in the game IMO was the 4th down stop by the Rams...Otherwise, the fumble by the Bluedevils inside their own 20yd line doesn't happen....Brevard was driving, and looked as though they were about to take an 18pt advantage, but seemed as though they may have got a little too conservative with 2 QB keepers before the stop on 4th down, but I wasn't there, so I don't know if the pitch was there or not on 2nd down as the Radio announcers said it was, and they also said that the RB Fields had an open lane to get the first down which would have at the very least put Brevard in great position for a FG attempt as well as run more time off the clock?
Credit the Rams for driving the length of the field after that 4th down stop to put themselves in position to win the game at the end, which they did....

actually Tiger, the score at the time when Reidsville made the 4th down stop was 21-17 Brevard (not an 11 pt. lead)...Rams had the play well read....I didn't see any hole for the RB to get to.....he was gang tackled.........Rams then flipped the field...driving to mid-field punted to Brevard 15.....Blue Devils then fumbled a couple of plays later...Rams had the ball on 13 yard line.....scored on short run with 2:04 left in game....................................
One of those "bad apples" was your head coach.
The administration and the school board at Brevard should be embarrassed by his conduct.

Congratulation to the Blue Devils on a great season. In a game like that, you have to have a little luck and Reidsville did. Looks like Brevard is back to where they use to be.Hope when you come to Canton next year we are playing for the conference championship again.
