Lol not sure about how their county works but not all counties are like y'all. Some of us have to deal with very strict County border lines and policies 😂

lol you act like maiden didn’t get a transfer running back. Rockingham county is very strict on transfers. But transfers are happening in high school football regardless.

Yes, the transfer “portal” as it is called isn’t near the same in the mountains as it’s alluded to elsewhere.

Reynolds gets a decent amount of intra-Buncombe County moves from time to time for football and TC Roberson for baseball. I think some intra-Henderson County moves happen due to where the talent may be but outside of that it’s fairly minimal in the mountains the best I can keep up with it.

That being said, unless a few may come from Mills River (West Henderson) and one or two from Rosman, I wouldn’t suspect players to roll into Brevard.

I’m not saying nothing happens up here and we’re perfect. Landscape probably plays a decent bit into it, if a kid’s family isn’t going to move into district it usually means a pretty decent drive.

Dang besides 4 and 80 seems like it was a senior laden team. I’m sure brevard will still be solid though

Brevard is definitely way better than what they showed on the field today you don't get to 14-0 without being a good team. Mentally the Brevard kids was beat before the game started. An 11am kickoff the game is televised and your playing reidsville who's in this position pretty much every year that has a lot of great athletes committed to play at the next level and your the 1st team to make it to state for Brevard since '82 they caved under the pressure and it showed in todays game. I think if you play this game 5 times in a row 2 we get blown out like today the other 3 its a one score game that comes down to the final play.
They were okay until the third quick strike touchdown and the turnover took the wind out of their sails. I was very impressed with the crowd from Brevard. The numbers and enthusiasm was very impressive. Reidsville has been blessed with team speed and this Reidsville team is especially blessed with some extraordinary athletes.

They do. To my knowledge, Christ School changed residency requirements to where kids have to board and that seems to have lessened some of the local movement. Christ also hasn’t been as good in the last few years so not as attractive as they were previously.

Rabun Gap has also got a few top notch players that are west of Buncombe. I can think of 3 they got that went on to play D1 football. 2 from Tuscola and 1 from Andrews.

I mean you can’t deny a kid that legally move into the city. But it’s more that goes into it then you may think, well for reidsville

Im very familiar with transfer policies and procedures concerning Rockingham County Schools. Can be easy to circumvent some of the rules if you know what to do. Bonafide moves should be/are 100% a yes but they have denied kids that literally lived in the city of the school before. Same time period Ive seen kids that lived in Caswell County attend and play for schools in Rockingham County.

Ok, that’s more what I meant. The rules are tougher for reidsville. Don’t think they care much about the other schools.

The RB moved to maiden, but in all honesty his whole family went to maiden and played for maiden. The kid came up through maiden rec system. But housing until recently has been hard to find in maiden, now housing developments are popping up. But still big issue for maiden is actually affordable housing options. We have very very few apartments and complexes. Hell rentals in general

Good to see you yesterday. I recognized you as soon as you said something. I left not long after you. Stopped in Winston and did some Christmas shopping and met my sister for lunch. She lives in Lexington.

Congrats to Reidsville. They looked great! Congrats to Brevard on a hell of a season.

My only concern for Brevard was the outside. That is one area Burns was able to have success with speed and Reidsville is loaded with it. What I didn’t expect was the blown assignments in the secondary. That was very out of character for Brevard. It could have been Reidsville creating confusion. It is one thing for Neal and Harrison to make big catches or big plays after the catch but on two plays they were completely wide open with nobody around them. That is just missed assignments. I never saw that coming. Either way, both teams earned the right to be there and Reidsville took over the game in impressive fashion. I’m not a hater and will give all respect when it’s due.

Burns is probably the favorite to come out west next season

Paul Cauthen could be the top WR for Reidsville next year a Junior. A transfer from Statesville High. The family moved to Reidsville. He is a basketball and football player.

Yes, I’m aware. I think he would be wr no 1 and Whitted no 2 as of now

We have a special group returning along with those coming up. It can be a fun next 4-5 years BUT the weight room has to be a priority. I saw a few lineman come into the gym I workout at. They were motivated to say the least.

Overlooked in this game was the play of Tyson Broadway. He was severely criticized by the Ram fans for his mistakes in the West Craven game. He came back with a strong game and was awarded the offensive MVP.
100% Agree, Tyson played an Awesome Game and showed tremendous poise on the Big Stage!!

Not missed assignments. The Brevard safety did exactly what he always did. He covered one of the strong side receivers. Rams coaches picked this up on film and threw deep to the weak side WR and it resulted in two TDs.

It was more other team fans. A few ram fans. I figured he would play better.
