I probably shouldn't say one of these, but two things on the catch:
1. If I had to bet the house on it, I'd bet that Reilly just lost track of his angle on the field and drifted out of bounds. Even though the defender did touch him, there wasn't enough force to force him out.
2. The thing that amazes me on the play is how the DB totally fails to react to the ball at the critical moment. He's stride for stride with the receiver and then when Reilly goes for the grab the DB ends up a whole yard or more away.
Anyway, this play goes right in there with Davison's catch against MO for me. Stunning save.

I believe even though the DB was looking back he was really just riding Reilly and working on pinching him. That's why when Reilly made his football move on the ball the DB just fell down while continuing down the original line. He never was ever looking for the ball.

Reilly played it perfectly. The DB did too till he fell down. Reilly kept going and made a play for the ball and was rewarded with a touchdown.

#1 is probably what happen. I'll take it and won't ask questions.

Sparty was leaning on Reilly like a wall. When Reilly made his move the DB fell down like someone pulled a rug out from under him.

It appeared to me that although the contact wasn't aggressive it was constant as the DB rode him out of bounds. The only person who really knows the answer to this is Reilly and he said he was forced out.

Reilly has obviously watched Top Gun a few times. "I'm gonna hit the brakes and he's gonna fly right by." The DB was obviously leaning on him all the way down the sidelines and when Reilly hit the brakes, the DB fell on his face. Kill shot.
