I was at Bryant Denny today to visit my daughter. Yes my tickets to DWS were used! They announced attendance at BDS at 100,300. That is 17ing BS. There were at most 70.000 there!! I was there, and no way there were more than 7 out of 10 seats occupied for Alabama's first home game. If you saw the LSU game, it was a ghost town by half time. NO ONE wants to watch these crappy teams and pay through the nose plus sit in blazing heat this time of year, especially with every game on TV now. Don't get down on anyone at State; that's just the nature of the beast these days. Obviously teams are being supported by their fans for the opportunity to show up for the games that really count.

I'm cutting everyone slack today because it was hot as 17 and 17ing miserable. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that I felt like I might pass out a couple of times before the half. I went inside at the half to cool down. Thank you God for the cloud that covered the sun in the second half. It's the only way I made it. It was damn hot.

Got to agree with you. I left early today too because of the heat. Don't know what our attendance today was but just a guess is 50,000 actual attendees when the game started.

Where do you sit? Anybody in the north end zone, other than those in the suites, must have been baking. Can't blame anybody for not staying in their seats during that.

It was brutal and I was in the shade by halftime. I saw that someone passed out in the band in the second half. Saw the paramedics over there and had to carry someone out.

There is a photo going around on OM boards of empty seat areas.

We have a ton of people in "standing" areas and Club areas. Empty seats are not going to be as big an indication of "diminished crowds"

Nevertheless, I believe today was the first non-sellout in 30-something games.....that is....there were enough tickets left to the point that the big-money dawgs passed on buying up the difference to stamp it a sellout.

My wife suffered heat stoke at a Florida game when we were students and we spent most of the game in the stadium medical clinic trying to get her temperature down. That heat can be brutal on people who are not use to it. Just because you're young (students) doesn't mean you are immune to that blazing heat.

That was one of the hottest halves I can remember. My wife was going to leave after halftime until that cloud came over. I'd guess 2/3 of the crowd didn't come back after halftime.

A&M just finished a game in which they won by 70. You couldn't fit another person in the student section even 10 minutes after ther game.
