Not great, but not awful. Been a long, long, time since we had a real good one. And, not a lot of real playmakers around him. One or two. If that gets better next year and our defense continues to get better 2011 might be the year of the wool.

it's wool fertilizer ... I'm gonna have to wait on the rain first ... right now, I don't think he could pass a kidney stone

I know it's hard to believe, but he threw 7 TDs to 5 INTs. Not that it matters at this point though.

with picks and fumbles.

He hurts us every time he overthrows a wide open receiver running a post or throws it at the receivers feet on a swing pass/bubble screen. If a bad pass results in us not moving the chains, he hurt us.

want out of your QB - see last two games. But, Im sure the "Russell should start in the bowl game for experience or he will beat Ralph out in the spring" Thread will pop up very soon.

I know all qb's are going to have incompletions. It's the touch passes he misses and thepercentage of thosethat I am referring to. He misses wide open downfield receivers almost every time. If he doesn't flat out miss wr's/backs in the flats, he puts them out of position due to having to reverse their strides to catch it. It is obvious that he hurts us in the passing game.

That said, he is a benefit in the running game and is definitely the right choice for qb this year.

But when we have 3rd & long, he handicaps us pretty badly.

we need, currently, with our personnel. Don't you think we would have won more games last year without the 60 turnovers a game we had. Hell if you have a qb that isn't constantly turning the ball over and a good d, you're gonna win games. I'm not saying he's Dan Marino, but he gets it done where we need it. As soon as we get some legit all-SEC (hell, 3rd teamers would suffice), we will start getting better on offense.

having a guy go for 1,500 and 750 (which I feel like he will get in the bowl game) is huge for this offense right now. Especially when he doesnt turn the ball over.

Nobody in the SEC really envies the WR core we have amassed to this point. They arent Croom Error bad, but they arent top 75% of the SEC either. That hampers a QB as well

Ralph needs to keep getting better without a doubt. But after watching us play with the Henig's, York's, and the kid that went to Jackson State, I feel as good about our QB situation as I have felt in a long time.

Not that it really matters. Just like a win is a win... a forward pass is a forward pass. But hey, run a few more like that & he'll make that TD/INT ratio look even better.

that were screens behind the line of scrimmage where McCaleb or Adams and the blockers did all the work while Camille got the stats

yards before catch... that would be a neat way to compare college QBs with all the screens and short passessome make.

I think Derrick Taite holds most of the passing records. Let that sink in.

Taite's holds MSU's single season record for TD passes with 16. Relf will come close to that this year depending on how he does in the bowl game. I think it's very conceivable that he could break the school single season record- especially if some of these freshman WR's that we're bringing in pan out and contribute immediately.

The school record for career TD passes is 38, also by Taite. Relf has an outside shot at that- although I think he will probably fall a little short- he has 15 TD passes in his career right now.

shocking that he has a 2-1 ratio. shocking that he only has 5ints considering how many deep balls have been so errant. shocking that our ground game is still so important.
