what are your guys thoughts on Ballard being chosen over Relf for senior captain? Last year we had four, really wonder why Relf is not one

I know it says a lot about Ballards work ethic and drive, but as much as Relf has improved and taken leadership of this team ...you would think he has respect of his teammates, right?

We've always had seniors leaders that were leaders in the locker room or the quiet leader that just does his business. If we are going to take the next step, I really think we need senior leaders that are vocal on the field and ones that get in other guys faces to challenge them to do better, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

I know we put up a ton of points on offense last year, but I still felt Relf needed to lead more and be the guy holding everyone accountable. In the past Relf has been deemed as quiet and doesn't really direct much. I think if he really learns the offense and is confident about what he's doing, the whole team can use that to their advantage. I think Relf is the most important player to any MSU team in a long time. We will go as he goes. If he crumbles under this seasons pressure, we are screwed. If he elevates himself as a true leader, I think he could elevate the entire team to one of our best seasons ever.

Because he survived the Croom night mare and has become a good QB. He's earned the right to be Captain after that.

Once you've been to Hell and back, you deserve to be a Captain.
