Has he grown into a true SEC QB (last 2 games) or just a blip and he'll return to his old inconsistent ways later

It's possible that he good have taken his game to the next level. Or maybe he just had two good games. Who knows?<div>
</div><div>One thing we know for sure is that the competition between our QBs next spring will be intense. I expect good things from that group.</div>

The B Bears crowed the line, and already had a weak secondary, and overall The Pigs secondary was not that outstanding.
Against Bama, LSU(5 Ints'), and some others, we either tried and it did not work out, or we knew better than to push it.

...the last two who saved their best for last were Don Smith and Matt Wyatt. I'm hoping that the staff can stay intact for at least one more year, because that should help Ralph's development. Let's just hope he doesn't join a frat, or buy tires on his mom's credit card, or a WR steals his girlfriend......

I think Relf is getting better and better each game partly because he has learned to manage games and not do as much to hurt his team. I wish he could be a little more consistent passing the football by hitting open receivers down the field to keep the chains moving and throw balls away instead of taking sacks or forcing balls into double and triple coverage but he has shown improvement there as well. I think he will be a good SEC quarterback next year and his senior leadership will certainly help our team.

He throws a great ball. Tight spiral, lots of zip, good release point and good footwork. His accuracy can be called into question which can be attributed to mechanics or indecision. Both of these things can be developed. Hopefully it's indecision because extra bowl practice and a confident spring could do wonders.

it's pretty clear that Relf is going to bs our QB next year unless we manage to get the reincarnation of Jerry Rice and TO, Relf gets hurt, or TR puts on about 20 pounds and can suddenly run a 4.7 or faster.

I'm not taking anything away from Relf becauseI do think Relf is seeing the field better, is making better decisions, and is much more patient. He has definitely grown, but too many passes were dropped earlier in the season that really should have been caught, even when TR was QB. I didn't see as much of that in the last 2 games. Chris Smith has really stepped it up recently and Perkins has proven to be a good receiver out of the backfield in the last 2 games. I think the entire offense has grown and developed and that is what has me excited. However, I still think 2 games is not enough to draw a definitive conclusion about Relf as a "true" SEC QB. When Relf is able to beat secondaries like Bama, LSU, Fla, etc....then I think we can say yes. I still think he is our best chance for winning for the time being. My 2 cents.

which is a big big plus.

ARK did pressure him and he STILL was pretty poised
OM as bad as their secondary is, is still a good pass rushing team, based on their stats

So yeah, I blv Dan and company have developed the Real Deal into a near-SEC QB

His footwork is what makes him inaccurate. It's his biggest passing flaw. Now he's shown some flashes in the last two games, stepping up in the pocket and making a good throw a couple of times, but he's also had some of those moments where he just absolutely sails one due to his feet not being set or gets himself blasted cause he didn't move in the pocket like he needed to. It'll be interesting to see if he can improve these things.

instead of running the wishbone. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Prescott is a little smarter as well.

Prescott, while he can run, is a QB first and foremost. He can wing it. He will be a good player for us

anybody have any further word on whether Mullen's visit to him yesterday might have convinced him to forgo his trip to LSU visit? If not, I'm concerned whether we will hold on to him.

LSU is signing 3 QB's. 3 damn QB's in one class

We have told him to enroll early because we want him to compete for the QB job this Spring. While it is every young player's dream to play for LSU, some are smart enough not to go and get in that logjam- I hope he will be too

The last two games, he has completed at least 65% of his passes. That's very acceptable, no matter what his mechanics, etc are. He is also a running threat, as he always has been.

It looked a lot like our offense (I suppose those with a better eye for offensive tactics would pick out the differences like blocking, etc.). I was also wondering why we don't run 4-wide with a RB as opposed to 5-wide in the situations we run 5-wide. We have too good of a RB and not enough quality WRs not to.
