Seems the OL just blocked harder and better when Russell was on the field. Maybe it was the threat of the pass that opened things up. Relf better get his head out of his butt and pick it up fast or he will not see the field again.</p>

It happened during the auburn game he took several big shots in that game not even counting the demoralizing one at the end of the game.

we just needed a spark so he called on TR. Hopefully that was just coachspeak, if he watched the same game I did, but it wouldn't surprise me if we don't start Relf again next week. I agree in that it almost seems that when he didn't get in for the TD against Auburn that he just lost his fire or confidence or something. Definitely not the same QB anymore. I am afraid if he starts next week and looks like he did this week that the MSU boobirds will be out in full force to get him out of there.

you see that with alot of running QBs in college. Their senior year, people start talking about the NFL and ****, and they think they should be working on their passing game and getting away from what put them in position to succeed in the first place.<div>
</div><div>Tebow sort of regressed his senior year too, as he was trying to throw more and take less hits. My guess is, you'd have seen Cam Newton do the same thing if he'd have come back. Although he's probably big enough to withstand hits year in year out.</div>

I keep hearing about these mysterious injuries that he may have, but they sure aren't apparent when he's playing. He just plays like someone who doesn't want to be out there. His runs our weak, his throws are lazy, and it's like he doesn't even attempt to read a defense anymore. I've been ready to bench Relf since LA Tech, but when he threw that 8-yard screen pass at Ricco's(I think) feet while under no pressure, I was completely done with him. Something like that is about nothing more than effort, and I'm sick of seeing Relf play like he just doesn't give a ****.

I don't think that Russell is going to continue to play like superman for the rest of the season, but the fact of the matter is that if Chris Relf can't effectively run the read option for us, then he's completely useless to the offense. He's not the least bit effective at doing anything else so we may as well play someone else. I expected Tyler to make some good throws, but I was surprised at hoe much the running game picked up when he was in as well. I guess it goes to show how good or bad an entire offense can look depending on who is playing QB. Mullen even said that the playcalling didn't change at all. Of course, he also said that Relf didn't play poorly in the first half... 49 passing yards and no points against a defense that's been giving up 500+ yards in every game this year. Ok coach...

he's not running with authority. I bet he's still bruised up from AU and LSU in five days and it's thrown off his whole game. He used to bring the pain and he's just not running the same. Masterful scheduling by somebody.
