What is conceivable or what should we expect at minimum?

I'm thinking 5 of 8 in weekly play and .500 in league play.

That would put us at 31 and 24 for the year. I'm hoping for more but I'd settle for this at a minimum and be pleased for the year.

I don see this being a .500 SEC ball club. The key will be to not get swept on the road(Fla, LSU, USC, etc). We have some home series that are winnable. I also believe that we will have to be near perfect I'm midweek.

Unfortunately, the newbies need time. I'm now just hopeful for .500 overall followed by more redass recruiting mode.

but if we finish 9th or better in the SEC standings this season then I will feel much better about going into next season. Hopefulyl the league is good enough this season where they will select 9 teams to go to the NCAA and we can sneak in there one way or another.

I won't be upset with less than that but that's what it would take for me to say this was a successful season.

Maybe I'd consider less than 15 and 15 a success but i would really like to reach the 30 win mark. Less than that say 26 to 28 wouldn't be a disappointment, but i'd be very pleased if we got to the 30 win mark.

That being said, I still think they can get to 31 or 32 overall wins and make Hoover...the bottom third of the league is really bad

We will know for sure quickly...cant get swept at UF or swept at USC and the Georgia home series is a must-win

I'm assuming you think its possible to go 8 and 0 in OOC? That includes USM and Ole Miss on the schedule of OOC.

Would this be correct?

You are thinking 12 and 18 in league and 8 and 0 OOC?

I was hoping for the 30 win mark.

Lets not use your same expectations for Stans team this year please. I kid. Sort of.

I still think 30-26 and 12-18 in the SEC.

Here's how we can do it:

12 SEC wins
4 SWAC wins (1 already)
10 wins to date against non SWAC teams.

Beat Memphis, Northwestern State, South Alabama- all at home.

Then win one between the Gov Cup or one of two vs USM.

If my math is correct, that should equal 30 and it is doable.

D1baseball.com also has us with another game vs Valley that's not on the schedule. I'm not sure if that's an error, or if it's our"if needed" game built in for rain delays or what.

And do you think we underachieved last year and the year before that in regular season in basketball?

What about the BASEBALL expectations?

Either 12-18 in the league or 13-17
And 7-2 or 8-1 non-conference rest of the way

Putting us at either 30 or 31 overall wins

That's 6-3 in the OOC games we have remaining. That includes one with UM, two with USM, Memphis, South Alabama. Pretty good teams there to go along with the SWAC games and Northwestern State. Getting to Hoover will be unlikely, strictly because you have to put 4 other teams behind you in the final standings and who is that going to be? Maybe UGA, UT, and possibly Auburn? Just don't see it happening. I would think it will take 14-16 to get to Hoover. Not getting swept this weekend would be a good start though.
