REMATCH OF LAST YEARS FINALS?

Are we looking at a rematch of last years finals or can the teams from the west get it done? Personally I believe we are looking at a rematch but the games still have to be played and anything can happen.

I have already posted this but here goes it again.


I guarantee that the same 2 teams will be playing each other again. Speed kills and the 2 teams from up north will have plenty of it. Turf or not.

Altivista will beat Honaker by 21 points. Everyone has talked a lot about strength of schedule. Honaker hasn't really played the competition that Vista has.

Essex will beat Haysi by 14 points. Haysi has played 2 good teams, 1 beat them and the other should have beat them.

Alaivista will beat Essex by a score of 21-0 in the State Championship game.

Congrats to all teams still playing. Anything can happen, just ask Giles County. So just come ready to play and who knows, maybe we will see an all West title game.

Honaker will struggle if Alta Vista gets a lead. If Honaker can score first it will be a little closer than most think. How often has Alta Vista played on field turf this year?

Haysi-Essex hard to say about this one. I think Galax was surprised by the speed of Haysi at WR, as they out ran the Galax secondary on a number of occasions. Except the lone Alta Vista's loss last year Haysi played them better and closer than anyone else including Essex. If Haysi can get their passing game going, then it will be a close one, if not Haysi will struggle.

The only way the West get's a team in is by Haysi some how pulling the upset. Who thought Glenvar would beat Giles. Not I.

What's that have to with it. If you think Honaker is in the same class as Vista, your crazy. Who has Honaker beat in the playoff's? Really? I watched Vista play Galax. 50-7 win for Vista. Them boy's are going to be fast on that turf.

Altavista has D1 players on there team. At the skilled positions and that is hard to overcome. They are faster than Radford.I have not seen Honaker but haven't heard of any D1's talked about. Now that don't we games but it sure does help.

Well Fort Im glad you think you know so much !!!! One thing I can guarantee on my prediction. I predict I will be at Honaker watching the Tigers play in the State Semi Finals next Saturday and you WILL NOT be watching Fort Chiswell. Enough Said.

Radcats....you keep judging what you have seen of Altavista by ONE game....You go ahead and judge us by the one game, because that team you saw us play (PM) was a lot better then Honaker. I have said one other time the coaching staff at Altavista is awesome and they adjusted their game plan against PM to be able to beat them abd thats what they did, so you come on out to Honaker next week and you will see another scheme for another opponent.

The part I don't get about this whole ordeal is you can ask any fans from Haysi and I'm sure honaker about altavista or Essex and they will tell you they are a great team but think they can beat them. Ask the fans from the east about Haysi or honaker they are overrated, play crap teams, and don't deserve to be there.how can there be so much lack of respect for these schools. Haysi was predicted by many to lose to Covington and by most to lose to Galax, some even by 5 or 6 td's. If you go by score
S last year against altavista Haysi would have been #2 in the atate. I guess what I don't understand is the general piss poor attitude of the east and even the eastern side of the west teams against the far west teams. Its ridiculous.

I'm glad to see Essex back to the final 4, but the Trojans will need to play a complete game to beat Haysi. Essex hasn't played great ball yet in the playoffs. He defense has been solid but the offense is going to have to step up on offense.

If you can't handle reading other posters OPINIONS maybe you shouldn't read them. Your feelings will get hurt, and you will cry. You can make the trip to Salem on Dec. 13th as well, just that your team or my team want be there. Thornhill can win games by himself, he just doesn't have to, but you watch him close. When he gets tired of toying with the Tigers, he will take over.

I guess you don't know who your talking too . Your team is done maybe you should too . Radford is nothing but a bunch of preMadonna's . Take your L and roll on and don't try to talk about something you have no clue about . So keep on Hating on Altavista you'll get your chance in March to play us and like the last two times you'll go home with a L .

Your right they might as well not even play the game, Altavista is not beatable. Heck Max preps already has the final scheduled between Altavista and Essex, according to Altavistas page.

I never said that . Did I say anything like that in any of my post? The Tigers are undefeated for reason they're very good and I'm sure will have are hands full . I haven't seen them personally , but teams we have already played in regular season and playoffs has us prepared to what ever we have to play . By the way I like are speed on turf .

The people saying the Tigers have played crap teams were from the West, well not West of you all of course but the West part of the state. So, before you get this pity party rolling at full steam, the disrespect is coming from your side of the state. Most of the Eastern teams don't know anything about Haysi/Honaker but will say that the coalfield teams seem to always be tough.

That's why it the eastern teams from the west. With the exception of a few of a few people that just want to start stuff most people are pretty civil and its usually the ones who's team isn't in it still. Maybe that's the cause of their animosity.

I would say every team thats playing at this Point is very good that's why they're still playing.At this point of the season it's about execution and taking care of the ball.

JR, I believe Altavista is good. (I know they are)..Everyone is saying I only saw one game. And yes that's the truth, However I'm guessing all the players were there and played. And a few has said he has a different game plan every game. I believe that, He's A Great Coach!. What I saw was speed, and two lineman that were physical. At Honaker I saw their whole line being physical on both sides of the ball, and deep at the positions. There is a recipe for speed, and its to run right at it. I've been playing and watching football for 32 years. I think I may know a little something. My team does not have to be in it for me to post on here, Its a free country and I pulled my fair share of time in the Marines to help keep it that way. I would expect everyone to expect my opinion, as I will theirs. Its ok to critic, and ask why you think a certain way about things. But degrading and putting other people, their community, and school down is just plain childish. Back to the game now, Honaker is big, and strong up front, with some fast physical skill players. Altavista is fast, plays as a team very well, with zone blocking, overall just playing their plays to perfection. My opinion is Honaker size and strength up front will be the difference. This is all about matchups, and outside of a few skill players Honaker has the edge, again IMO. Honaker 24 Altavista 21 will be the score. I will be pulling for Altavista, but I don't see it in the end......Have a nice day!
