Rematch?

I was thinking about this yesterday after the game (got that 90 minute drive home) ... what about a rematch in Nashville?

Most likely we will be going to Orlando (either Citrus or Russell Athletic), but personally I would be fired up for a rematch in Nashville.

Would UK fans hate this idea? Or would the chance to "double-down" like the UK basketball team did in 2012 lead to record bowl attendance in Nashville?

First off, we probably won't end up in either bowl you mentioned. Secondly, hell no I don't want a rematch. Just a terrible, terrible idea!

Well I did mention 3 bowls, and cbs does have UK in the Music City Bowl versus Iowa and UofL versus Florida in the Citrus. But I just thought it was such a great, ultra competitive game, that it would make for a great rematch.

Neither team wins playing that game again. Just a worthless idea and post.

Well, someone would definitely win, so I'm not sure I get your point there. And Iowa would be a pretty good bowl opponent (they finished 8-4) if that's who you would get, but they are unranked.

It would be an unprecedented move by the Bowl for sure, but the game would get a lot of notoriety for making such a move. And UofL and UK would get a lot of publicity for it, as well. So frankly I think both teams would win under such a scenario.

You had your chance and you choked. Maybe if your hot shot QB was more focused on playing football instead of showing his *** with Heisman poses he wouldn't have strangled on his press clippings and you would've won the game.

Yeah, and you would be wanting that even if LJ hadn't fumbled and UL would have held on to win. LOL!

Instead of fantasizing about revenge for the humiliating defeat yesterday, perhaps you should be worried about how bad UL is going to get their *** handed to them in their bowl game. The one where UL has to play another team with a winning record and they're going to be so fired up for.

No interest at all. Let's play a novel opponent, and one with some basic street cred. I'd far rather play Iowa, for instance.

Bowl officials frown on rematches. The only ones I can recall are Nebraska-Oklahoma in the late '70's and Florida-Florida State in 1996 or around that year.

Would be a boon for ticket sales! Other than that, I do not see any redeeming value in such a contest!

What the hell is it with uofl fans and fantasizing about revenge? We hear it every year in basketball. After they lost to Clemson this year half the posts on their board were about beating them the next time they play... Give it up. Your coach can't win the big one

Nope....not interested, and the outcome of Saturday's game has nothing to do with it. I'd prefer to play someone we've never even played before in a bowl. UaVel will get a rematch next November.

Yes.

That's really kind of the joy of bowl season. If you aren't playing for something important (and only 4 teams will be), then you at least want the experience to be unique. A match-up with a Big X team like Nebraska or Iowa should do that.

This...You beat us this year and well earn...you have a years bragging rights and look forward to getting it back from you guys next year. Not saying it going to be easy because Kentucky going to have a good team going forward.

We both want to play someone we usually don't play in the season....hey you might even get someone like Miami or Georgia Tech.

Playing Lamar Jackson once a year is plenty. Not afraid to admit the Cats had a little good fortune on their side in this game, but that tends to happen when you put yourself in position to grab that good fortune :)

Not that I'm afraid of UL at all..I'm not..you guys couldn't beat us in your own house as 27 or 28 point favorites..UK would likely beat UL AGAIN on a neutral field. But I don't want this rematch this season as it just wouldn't excite me. Maybe if we played you guys in week 1 or 3 like we used to..but not twice in a month. It would just be ehhh to me.

Careful what you ask for too, Card. In 2012 and in 2014..all I heard during basketball season was.."It was just a December game..We'll kick UK's *** in March..just wait..you'll see !!" and both years, UK sent you linebeards packing in March/April.

Depends on how conference championship games play out. Uofl probably be in the citrus bowl against florida or Russell athletic. But if VA Tech beats Clemson that will probably knock you down further.

Personally I'd like to play someone else we never play.

In the old setup, when we played week 1/week 3, I'd be hyped up about it. Playing last week of the season and then rematching right away in a bowl holds no appeal to me
