I would say the regression of Beran this year and Buie at mid-season have been the two most consequential and disappointing things about this season.
I don't think you can say Buie has regressed. He had 5 straight games in double figures between December 9-26. Unfortunately, that handful of games
was the anomaly. Buie has only been in double figures twice in the other 14 games this season. Buie is a career .309 three-point shooter and career .363 FG shooter. Blech. You'd think that with these kinds of numbers, he'd think about starting to take some better shots--or at least not soooo many terrible ones. Haha. Nope!
Beran, on the other hand, only had 2 games in double figures last season. That Illinois game was the anomaly. This season, he has been in double figures in 4 games. Again, not really a regression. But I think you should expect better play and more consistency out of a 4-star recruit by this time in year 2!
