It took some serious effort to get that thing done, and they made others, as well. So taking off on nirrad's thread about James Conner, the Pitt player who recently tore his ACL and, while being treated for it, was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, here's a direct link to a thread on Pitt's board to give the guy a boost with a simple (or elaborate) message. I remember when WVU's former coach died we represented ourselves very well on their board, so here's another situation that might be something that helps James fight harder and creates good will among fan bases.

Link to wish James well

Good post OP. Remembered like it was yesterday. That was a heartfelt gesture by the Pitt fans. Very classy.
I actually hadn't seen the one I posted above until I searched for the big sign with all the signatures on it and instead found the one above. All of that is a seriously good part of athletics and helps keep some things in check.

The giant sign with signatures was awesome. With so much outpouring of support from everywhere, Pitt fans gesture stood out the most. Will always hold them with high regard. World-class institution, great tradition and thoughtful fans.

It's amazing how that works. I was on Louisville's board about six years ago after one of their players went down with a neck injury trying to tackle Mo Sanu, and one of their posters said he used to hate Rutgers until that night. The thing that completely turned him was Schiano having our entire team take a knee while they attended to the injured player. When the Ville fan posted that, a number of other posters chimed in and said the same thing--they had never seen anything like that before and were so touched by it that they now have a soft spot for Rutgers. It doesn't take much, as the small things go a long way.

What you've been hiding in my glove compartment? I remember that vividly as well.
Thanks for posting. I encourage everyone to head over and express support. We're all Panther fans on this one.

I am a Rutgers football season ticket holder but more of a college football fan than a Rutgers fan. I am often criticized on this board for being a Syracuse fan, which is very true. However, I am actually a graduate of Pitt. It is terrible news for Conner, and the Pitt faithful appreciate your good thoughts.

My buddy went to Elmira College and I visited him once or twice up there. Any connection between you and the school?
