Never saw this before. Whoever this Dawson individual happens to be, he's been made to look like a laughing stock.
Well, to be fair, a lot of folks had some combination of these teams in the CFP. Now, us winning the whole thing was absurd, for sure.
Woah, and based on nothing but hype about Sellers. My how absurd that hype turned out to be.
Things like this should be exhibit A in why there should be no polls or rankings until after week 5.
Probably the source of most of my angst.
We haven't had a pre-season Heisman contender...ever. All the pre-season hype stuff wasn't much of a thing when Rogers won it.
Much less a QB. We've had good QBs over the years, but QB has rarely been our best player.
Throw in projections for us to make noise in the CFP.
I've been around for plenty of disappointing seasons. That's been most of them. But rarely have we ever garnered the amount offseason hype as this year. And, yes, largely based on Sellers. I knew I really shouldn't believe it all, but it somehow crept in anyway.
I had a hunch we wouldn't be as good as projected, but I didn't really expect us to be a complete and total disaster.
This. I, obviously, have repeatedly be one to push back against what I call the usual summer overly optimistic hysteria.
But even I didn't see us as this bad.
Yeah, I think I recall posting something about a disappointing season seeing us stumble to a 6-6 or 7-5 record in light of the preseason hype.
The first clue that something was wrong with this prediction is that it had the Gamecocks playing Iowa State in TUSCALOOSA in the first round.
It appears he mistakenly used the Gamecock logo instead of the Alabama logo.
People confusing South Carolina football and Alabama football is a common mistake.
Only among people who know absolutely zero about college football - which would explain a lot about this bracket.
