you can rest on the fact that we just set the record attendence for a Super Regional just a few years ago and went to the CWS also Ole Miss seems to host every year but has no records for attendence and no CWS in the past 30 years. (Not Sarcasm)
yes, it was 7-5 in the 9th (which I believe started 7-2). He had 2 outs and a man on and a 2-2 count. Everyone is yelling for Lou Brown's favorite "the heater". And Paps throws it. That ball got out on a line down LF faster than any ball I've ever seen.
The next batter hit one out to Right Center that Hunter brought back. It was over though for all INTENSIVE PURPOSES.
North Carolina's dynasty was getting started that year. What a hell of a 2 seed. For every bad break ole miss has gotten in Super Regionals, they've had 1 of the 3 easiest regionals in 05-07 and this year. If we had gotten a regional like those in 03, we wouldve won it. But who cares, we suck.
We packed our bags and hit the road when we were sitting comfortably with the lead. And we arrived for the final 2 outs and hit the road back home. On the way up the ride was entertaining on the way back not word was said. It was to say the least a ****** day.
GT was the National seed in our bracket and went 2 n' Q in the Atlanta Regional. The SR would have gone to Starkville if we had just closed out the ballgame. South Carolina got it instead.
If Polk had held Maholm back to pitch against UNC on Saturday, we'd have won that regional. That weekend was the last time I ever saw a Ron Polk coached MSU team play baseball.</p>
...I literally got there, stopped the car, put it in park, opened the door, 3rd out, closed the door, put it in drive, and started home, all in the amount of time that it just took you to read this sentence.
Get our hopes up and have game 2 of a possible doubleheader in the making and then when we were already too far into the ride to turn around and you could tell we were going to lose. We had to cut the radio and hope a miracle would stop that landslide we were in in that game.
