This has nothing to do with him getting cleared, but just wanted to relay a supposed conversation that took place between Stans and someone in the athletic dept. This came form a pretty credible source.

The highlights of the convo are as followed:

 • Even if Sidney were cleared today, he would not contribute much or at all because he is out of shape and has not been practicing with the team.
 • Stans is confident that Sidney will be coming back next year to MSU.
 • If Sidney gets cleared to play next year, he could be the best to ever wear the maroon and white.

The real question is would he be the best to ever ALMOST play for the Maroon and White, because that'd be saying something..

If he's so good that he will potentially be one of our best players ever while just playing one season, and that season comes after a two year stretch without playing, then he's good enough to contribute this year. Even if it's only a few minutes per half because he's not in game shape.

I think I gotta go with Monta. Wasn't Jonathan Bender another Almost Dog?

it really pains me to think about it. Maybe Renardo will be our Carmello Anthony.

Monta would have been the best ever. But out of the players who actually have played at state, there have been some really good ones. If Renardo is the best to ever play for us, that's saying something.

I remember going to see him play his senior year in high school in the state championship game, and he amazed me then the things he was doing. I believe once the game was well in hand for Lanier he just started taking shots just within the half court mark.

If he is that damn good. You would think he would be very servicable at about 40lbs over weight on a nearly 7ft frame.

So, at the beginning of the year, Sidney was allowed to practice with the full team. He even participated in the intra squad scrim before the season started. After the season actually began, he had to stop practicing with the team because he wasn't cleared.

So, when the season is over, is Sidney allowed to practice with the team again? Or can he not practice at all with the team until he is completely cleared by the NCAA?

(in my dreams) will change his major to Computer Programming, stay at MSU four years under full basketball scholorship, never hitting the floor a single minute while he's here and then go on to design a computer virus scanner that actually works, make a bozillion dollars selling it and give a half billion$$ back to the athletic program, with the stipulation itwould be used to close in the north end of Davis Wade, Fix Polkie (Polker?) baseball stadiumup to the standard the rest of SEC seems to be achieving and them double the size of the Hump. Oh maybe buy a new net for the women's volleyball team. NO! he could put in a Beach Volleyball stadium and fund scholorships for beach volleyball:

If he managed to do that, I'd forgive him and NCAA and Stans and anyone else I ever thought contributed to his not playing.

In my dreams - I'd Free Sidney!

maybe whether he's going to start working out for the draft. guess he wouldn't be hiring an agent yet if stans is confident he's coming back.
