Off speed pitches away, especially when he's behind in the count. Part of it is on him for not recognizing and adjusting and part on the coaches for not telling him to look off speed away early and often. He's our best hitter so he should expect to see a lot of off speed first pitches. It's just the way "Book" pitchers pitch hitters of his caliber.
All of this makes me wonder what the 17 our coaching staff does, besides acquire shiners.
