Wood bats and a tighter ball make all the difference.

No. It proves that wood bats + minor league balls > BBCOR bats + college balls. Supposedly, the bats have similar performance characteristics. If true, the difference in the balls is huge.

Nope. Not misunderstanding. Watch the power numbers in the summer wood bat leagues compared to last season. There will be a noticeable difference just like the year before.

That is based on two things...neither of which is the bat. The baseballs do make a difference plus the fact that the SEC in baseball is comparable to the AA level in professional ball. So these guys are actually facing somewhat lesser pitchers on a consistent basis...not always but this is mostly the case.

The new bats were designed and made to be as close to wood as possible...not less than. If you truly believe a wood bat is hotter than a college bat, even BBCOR, than you are a moron.

Thank you for bringing some actual intellect to the conversation. The ball is a big difference maker. College bats are hotter than wood bottom line. But college kids aren't as well conditioned and trained as pro guys so the pros get more outta the wood. I expect to see renfroe put up big numbers based on the pitching he will face, the coaching he recieves, and the fact that a lot of Parks he'll play in will be smaller than dudy noble.

That's a very interesting article. I'm with Leggett. Just go to the minor league ball and be done with it. Also, I've got no problem with letting the northern schools (or southern schools if they want to) play a few fall games that count. Maybe put a limit of something like 6-10 fall games.
