Replies to a thread

I just posted something under the "Sheriff's in the Junction" thread. I clicked "Reply to Thread", wrote my post ... and it put it under somebody else's reply about the Louisville Police.

What am I doing wrong? Should I have opened the thread and posted a reply to the original message? Seems to me that "Reply to Thread" should be a .... reply to the main topic.

Don't click Reply To Thread (the big maroon button). Like on the old SPS, click the reply button that is directly tied to the bottom right of the post you are replying to.
