And I'm not counting us out because our staff is so strong, but a coach as obsessed with playing the percentages as Cohen is should know better.

Most of their decisions have been pretty good regarding pitching. I think they know our guys pretty well.<div>
</div><div>They more than likely know something most of us don't... plus, I don't even know why they care to list the starter right now. I wouldn't say anything personally.</div>

I know many on here have a vast amount of experience coaching at the college level in post season play. Have any of you bitching about this decision watch this team all year. What we have accomplished with pitching in remarkable and I don't think they are going to give up now. (Unlike a lot of you dipshits on Thursday)

I'm betting it's about match ups anyway, Samford is hitting better than Fsu right now. They are a dangerous club, you can't over look anyone right now.

in their opinions and knowledge is staggering really. No humility at all. They are right and the rest of us and the coaches are idiots. That kind of arrogance is scary. It results in situations like Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pot and others when you let it go unchecked.

Sorry, that prolly went a little far with that train of thought.

How many games does a coach need to win before he's capable of making his own decisions?

Cohen has done enough now that I will back pretty much any decision he makes.

I scratched my head when Reed came in for the left handers in the 9th yesterday but he is a senior in his last SEC tourney and it worked so I'm done second guessing the intense bastard. Just win.

and you should match your pitching the best you can to win the first 2

win game 1 and lose Game 2 cause Fla State saved their ACE = losing game 1 and winning Game 2 vs UAB....both scenarios put you in the same position

nobody is calling Cohen or Butch an idiot or anything like that- we are simply debating scenarios and philosophy

I understand discussing different scenarios but if you were to read many of the post on the front page you will see a lot of people questioning his decision.

My guess is that he is in a much better position to make that decision than anyone on here. I just think people questioning, out of all things, our pitching decision is more than just a little absurd at this point.

You want to question Cohen's offensive production, go right ahead, but to question pitching even for a minute is just dumb.

Not only is it the safe decision, its the right decision

The only time I would consider saving your ace is if you are strong 1 seed playing a 4 seed that shouldn't even be in the tourney, say the Fla vs. Bethune Cookman matchup - yes you saave Hudson Randall in that situation

3 versus 2 matchup you should throw your ace

Howmany games had Ron Polk won when he pitched Maholm against MTSU?

It'sa horrible decision to throw Stratton against Samford. I'm pretty disappointed in Cohen, but he's no rocket scientist.

I mean, what % chance of a win do you put us for, for each of FSU and Samford both with and without Stratton pitching?
