Seems like the people who always scream about covid being overblown and having over a 99% survival rate are also the same people who constantly bring up that some have died after receiving the vaccine, even though a VAST majority are fine afterward and don't die. It's like in one breath some are arguing the virus is no biggie at all and a minute later arguing that what's actually dangerous are the vaccines. You're doing the same thing you accuse others of doing: fear porn. Keep at it though guys. Maybe you'll convince someone here to not take the vaccine. That seems to be the goal for a few of you for some bizarre reason.
Don't worry you'll likely get your hopes and dreams of people being forced to get the vaccine to be able to work or buy groceries

Amazing, the mentality that people must get the vaccine or else. Are you pro choice on abortion? You better not be. Choice is being removed for people because people like you. YOu would likely be in the streets if abortion was enforced like they are trying to do with this vaccine.

Go check out some tweets of Tyler Boyd of the Cincinnati Bengals. People are leary of soething the govt pushes so hard, well except for people like you.

I;m sure you doubted anything Trump admin put out about the virus or vaccine but believe everything now. Hmmm

Disagree with mandating it to buy groceries. You also mentioned abortion twice and Trump once. I can't think of anything less appealing than discussing abortion and I didn't mention politics in my post, so I don't want to discuss our former POTUS either.

Did you think vaccinations wouldn't be strongly encouraged once made available for everyone? I haven't seen Boyd's tweets, but since when does this site give a flip about athletes and their opinions? I've seen countless posts about athletes needing to shut up because no one cares about their thoughts. Now you're directing me to a football player's twitter account.

I've said before, we just need to move forward. Make masks optional and if airlines for instance require you to be vaxxed to fly, so be it. It's their decision. Scream "oppression" and take it to the courts if you feel that strongly. Involving restaurants in a mandate seems like overkill and all that will occur is you'll end up with some unvaxxed person screaming at a young greeter at the door about how the govt wants them to not eat and die or some ****. Then they may compare their foodie situation to the Jews in WWII and that greeter will just want to throw their hands up and leave. Just like the nut who walked into a store and videoed herself knocking over a stand of masks and then began screaming. We're a nation of infants now. That includes both sides. My girlfriend's young son who's been in the Navy for over a year acts more adult than many in our country that are much older than him.

Point is, most have an agenda and just wants to argue. I saw no one here last summer boasting that there's no way in hell they're taking a vaccine once it's available. I figured everyone would be on board. Now it seems like many are pretending to be terrified of a shot. The fear porn is happening on both sides. It'd be nice if we could all just admit it.

It's more like 99.8% worldwide, and probably closer to 99,5% here (lower here, due to a higher average age of Americans), but, whatever. I got your point, for what it was worth.
Yeah, I figure 99.5% overall for US is about right. Just going with the number that was thrown out.

I mean, the inverse is also true.

"I'm scared of the virus. I wear my mask in my car"

Same person. "Vaccine went public yesterday, give me."

It is interesting, though.. to see people be so against one, and so nonchalant of the other. But it applies both ways.

I had absolutely zero fear of "Covid" from Day 1 and no fear of the vaccine, either, which I took for purposes of travel.

not really. A billion people have been vaccinated. The risk Analysis is clear.

also, I don’t wear a mask, don’t need one. But i can think critically and examine basic evidence and data and come to the logical conclusion that I’m more likely to have a bad reaction to the virus than the vaccine.

Some people feel they can avoid the Virus AND the vaccine. They too look at the numbers and think if they DO wind up getting it, it has an extremely high survival rate, quite manageable, and may even be asymptomatic. They're choosing (trying) to avoid both, but that is a risk.

I think at this point, the Vaccine is pretty vetted. Yes, there are still the fringe that don't want it. But i think it was perfectly fine to be skeptical of a vaccine for this back in April.

Read Boyd's tweets. SO you want to discuss politics, just on your terms. Libs man.

I ain't reading your novel btw. People are developing serious health problems and even dying from this vaccines you so lovingly push on everyone.

Not sure if you are aware but this country, at least for now, is based on freedom and choice, both of which yo want to take away. Just insanity.

My son works at Toyota. They pushed for people to get the vaccination. Told them if you get the vaccine you will be allowed to work without a mask, etc.

It lasted 2 weeks. Told them the mask mandate is back even if you've been vaccinated. There is no end to this insanity.

Don't know what very likely means to you, but it would be at least 75% for me. I strongly doubt that.
If you don’t think decreased gray matter and lung tissue scarring are very likely going to cause long term health issues (amongst other things) then I don’t know what to tell you.

Please stop directing your bizarre hatred for all liberals on me personally. You keep saying that I specifically want to force this and that on you and others when that's not true. Have a discussion and stop being dramatic. I literally said in my "novel" to you that mandates for restaurants is overkill and masks should be optional, but my response was too long for those crying eyes I suppose. It's clear you didn't have a strong retort to anything I said, so you're opting to stay in attack mode as you see me as a symbol for all liberals. Sorry that we probably disagree on a few things, but I ain't your enemy. In two posts directed at me, you've mentioned liberals multiple times, abortion twice and Trump once. I don't care about your personal politics. Leave that idiocy in the thread pinned above.

It's fine, tomorrow just continue to act as if everyone is falling over dead from the vaccine and all your freedoms are being stripped away one by one. That seems to be what you do best when you're not doing a CI apology tour.

Enemy? What? You're for the vaccine no? You're not for the mask mandate again?

What are you for then? I don't hate anyone but you can;t seem to have a stance on anything but just want pretend I am attacking you for some reason.

I used abortion a metaphor. Sorry you can't grasp those things. Mentioning Trump must trigger you or something. Not sure what you're expecting on a discussion board. Don't want me to mention anything.

Weak little jab at the end. Typical. You chide me to not say this or that but you get to decide what is allowable. You are definitely a liberal.

The vaccine is causing problems and death. I guess that upsets your narrative but it's the truth. Just pretend that covid trumps everything again ever and the whole world must never go back to any form of normalcy because of a virus with a 99% survival rate. Makes sense.

Gues yo hadn;t heard that in some areas, the largest percentage of people getting covid had been fully vaccinated. But yeah, let;s shut everything down again. That really helped.

If you’d read my posts, it’s pretty clear how I feel, but you complained about the length of one and said you wasn’t going to read it and now you’re acting as if I need to keep repeating myself, which I’m not going to do. Why do I need to keep going in circles with you when you’ve acknowledged that you’re not even reading what I’m saying?

We probably agree a bit more on this issue than you’d like to admit, but I realize I’m talking to someone who was up in the middle of the night trolling the USA/Australia basketball thread cheering against the US and trying to make the thread political. For reasons beyond me, you’ve allowed politics to take over your life while at the same time complaining that everything is political now days. Whatever my man. Have fun bickering with folks here all day long.

Analyzing people is just not your thing. This is a discussion and opinion board. That's why it exists, for people to give their opinion and discuss things.

It's not trolling for me to express how I feel. I can have a different view than you and not be trying to argue or make an enemy of you. Don't understand that mentality.

Those who sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither.
Bet you don’t even know the history behind your misquote do you?

1. The actual quote is “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

and 2. It was about the PA government wanting to tax to fund frontier defense.

Shame we don’t have leaders wanting to resist grossly overfunding the military these days.

Because you’re so incredibly naive to big government and Big Pharma you mistaken mindless following as “intelligence.” If you still think this is about a virus then you’re a fool. This is BS hysteria used after a manufactured virus in order to grow government overreach like never before. Look how this has escalated within a year.

Newsflash- you can A) Not want to wear a face disappear all day, not be afraid of a virus and B) Not want to take a vaccine that has been so massively marketed because you trust your own body.
There’s no conflicting viewpoints here.

But it’s humorous to see people like you carry water for these people. You think they care about us all while at the same time threatening your paycheck and to ostracize you from society unless you get this vaccine. Does that sound like someone who cares for you?

No! It sounds like the mafia.

People have seemingly lost one simple fact. We can die at any moment, and for any reason. Most reasons are out of our control.
The left has this bizarre view where the government is their parent, their savior. They think these political elite strangers actually care for them. There’s nothing you can show them to make them think otherwise. They’re constantly manipulated with emotion-filled BS.

-“Here’s a picture of a crying mother and child. We should have a massive flow of third world migrants who are overwhelmingly men!” See. It’s totally about caring for others and totally not about Democrat power.

-“Oh we care about gun violence (only if it’s not urban violence YAWN).” So you should give up your second amendment.”
See, it’s totally about our concern for you and not at all anything sinister like every time world history has shown a removal of weapons.

- “Just get this vaccine. Get another vaccine. Get it yearly! Don’t ask questions! As soon as you do this we will let you go back to normal. Oh, just kidding, one more thing...” See, it’s totally about a concern for you and not at all an excuse used to implement a sinister agenda and government control and wealth redistribution.

He has a point about the vaccine messaging. The politicians are taking power back with the next "variant" even with vaccinated people. People need to say no to any restrictions/mandates.

For those like myself it’s more like I’m not elderly, I’m healthy, in great shape, my diet is good, and I’ve already recovered from it and it was mild, so I’m not taking an unnecessary vaccine that I don’t trust as much as my own body. If you’re in terrible health you should absolutely take it.
