Now that I go back and look at it, the likely scenario is that if Stans is replaced in the near future, that Scott will hire someone he is familiar with... with that in mind, I am thinking of guys he would have spent enough time with in his career to know them well enough to hire them. I am only listing head coaches at the time of his tenure at a location. I am not bored enough to even begin to figure out the assistants from all of these programs during his time.
Auburn (1993-98)
Tommy Joe Eagles (dead)
Cliff Ellis (mostly successful, in a Stans sort of way, in his career, and has had some really good teams. Three Sweet 16 appearances. Been really good the last couple of years at Coastal)
Tulane (1998)
Perry Clark (successful at Tulane for a while, then left for Miami where he was kind of 'meh', just got fired at TAMU CC after a 10-21 season)
Baylor (1999-2003)
Dave Bliss (umm, no thanks)
Scott Drew (not sure if they were in Waco at the same time near the beginning of Drew's stint)
Kentucky (2003-2008)
Tubby Smith (would be a fantastic hire)
Billy Gillespie (just hired at Texas Tech)
Mississippi State (1988-92, 200
Richard Williams
