Charles Rhodes came off the bench Wednesday night and scored one point in the Dallas Mavericks 100-93 loss to Indiana Pacers in the NBA Preseason. He played 6:04 and did not attempt a shot from the field. He was 1-of-2 from the free throw line and also pulled down two rebounds and had a blocked shot.

Is he expected to stay on the roster throughout the season, or does NBA have a cut that teams have to make before the regular season starts?

There's another roster battle going on at the bottom of the roster. The Mavs have 14 guaranteed contracts. A 15th player may come from the group of Reyshawn Terry, Jajuan Smith, Charles Rhodes, James Singleton and Cheyne Gadson.

They have a glut of guards and swingmen and not so many big bodies. Dirk, Damp, Diop, Bass and Shawne Williams are it. No need keep another guard, so there go JuJuan and Gadson. Terry is a 6-8 perimeter player, so no need for him. Comes down to Rhodes and Singleton in my estimation. Don't know much about Singleton other than he played two years for the Clips.
